Well I went straight into the Campaign missions. The first and second were not too bad (sniper one was relatively easy) but the destroy bmps and tanks one was soo difficult ( i detailed that earlier). The next one (5 or 6 have to take out enemy encampments) has me stopped. The biggest problem I find is actually ordering my men fast enough, the orders system is a bit clunky and by the time Ive ordered Team>Attack>enemy or whatever, half of us are dead. And theres always a couple of guys somewhere with an RPG or sniper shooting rifle.
I`ve been working to get AI controls working with voiceflux (speak engine) like IL2 so I can order faster, but the intensive processing of the game is preventing the voice commands to come through properly.
I actually find that online is easier even if annoying without a team.
I’m really intersted in playing online with ppl I know and as a team, and It would be really nice to play with you guys.
I just hope we can make some deal or such thing, make a meeting day, gaming night, so we all can meet and play together, rather than just chatting here and randomly playing without all together;)
So if we could make meeting and gaming nights would be awesome!
Been playing a lot on 6th sense server, a very good one! I recomend it very much!
just write 6th sense in the filter…very nice missions and people, at least the ones in the 6th sense caln:)
EDIT: Just discovered they dont have space between 6th and sense, so write 6thsense in the filter instead:)
also 6th sense aren’t always open for public, but when they are, its a very good server with missions;)
Repent, I as well want to play with others. Maybe at least you and me can arrange something? A usual time to connect and play ArmA? Just like the game meetings we have on Mon and Thu?
I am mostly available all the time, but my ultimate time to meet must be on Saturdays and Fridays (at least the weekend)…still the other days are ok as well, but I’m not as available as on the weekends.
So, what do you say? Maybe we can get the ball rolling?:rolleyes:
Since ArmA finally works on my 64bit Vista, do people still play ArmA, and if so on any special servers? Was thinking about playing on the SimHQ ones, but they are mostly active past my bedtime…
I am (when my pc is available) playing ArmA on a regular basis.
Servers? Hmmm, depends really what kind of mission you like. Some servers are solely playing Evolution, then I recommend FoW (write this in the server filter).
I am a part of that community, they have their own mod and play official gaming nights at Thursday and Sunday at 19:30hrs GMT. They love to get new people at their server and are welcoming us with open arms.
I will be very glad to play with anyone here, privately, on public servers or on the Zeus server.
Please ask if anyone wants more info about Zeus or how to meet for some ArmA gaming.
Got it yesterday for 5€ and tried abit. It looks very interesting but till now my troops are always (me included) dying because its too easy to give wrong orders :o and sometimes they just won’t do what is really needed ,hehe.
Did you all tried the 1.14 patch?
After a fresh install my Arma was playable but with FPS sometimes down to 15. Now with the 1.14 patch its much much better performance-wise.
The latest patch does improve framerate, so Arma is running fairly good on my PC at home. I haven’t really tried it on my laptop yet, I really should. When I ran it with the first install it was, well, not running smooth at all…
With some tweaking it might actually be playable.
i have been playing a lot of arma lately, and its running smoother than ever with on ver 1.14, been doing a lot of coops, very very atmospheric and immersive.
I put the “only save 1 time per mission” option off now, otherwise its a bit too frustrating at the moment.
Mikke, thats great its working,I can imagine playing a coop together must be fun. What about to run a test in the next days, anybody?

Btw. I take my beloved G36 when its available (although its not that a nice 3D model compared). Is it possible to switch between the gunsights? Ingame you only get zoomed gunsight when aiming with G36 but no aimdot.
sure thing paf, ive got some great coops to run, they are different everytime, night time ones are the best, covering each other as we peg it across a road.
I have played a little online with Stuntman, but only when I’m home in Umeå with the real computer. Not sure how it would work on the 3G connection.
I have to test a bit more on the laptop before I try online on it.
The only one save per mission can become really frustrating, fortunately there’s ways around it both in OFP and ARMA.
