I hope in a low price, 'cause 50€ for this little map it’s a shame…
Well they just doubled it, adding England…
hopefully they wil add something more to the east to make something similar to Clods one!
I’ve read this is a cropped pic, how much we’ll have to wait and see. Plus is early release and very likely this will get added to over time, which I’m assuming once you have the map, new bits are free.
Rumor says that the English side of the map will be very simplified, more or less only the bases, French side seems to be quite nice (but could be larger IMO). $50 I consider steep for a map, but it will be a must-have for me anyway, so…
New piccies!
Ohh, a B-17!
From other pictures I’ve seen, it looks like the English side of the map will look really good as well.
Yep. It’s looking very impressive. A big improvement over Cliffs at any rate. The aircraft will still be an issue, but nothing to stop Mig and Sabre missions!
It looks far to pretty to bomb!
Yep lack of ww2 planes will be an issue, but give it a year and a chance for the map to mature and grow, we might have a few more planes to play with. Bet we’ll get some offline campaigns pretty soon using the AI bombers.
A tempest, p47 or some other ground pounder would be useful. Mossie would be lovely.
I think a P47 should be soon in our hands…isn´t it the last of the promised planes in the crowdfunding? don’t remember what happened to the Me262
Maybe this weekend or next they will start the pre-purchase…

Dear all,
Sincerely sorry to have to do this a second time, but the team and I have decided it would be best to delay the live stream a bit to come very shortly after the start of the Normandy map pre-purchase and the release of the amazing trailer video that “Glowing Amraam” is working on. We feel the live stream and Q&A will be much more appropriate and useful after the pre-purchase beings.
Again, my apologies for the delay.
Thanks,
Matt
Pre-purchase can’t be far off then.

The DCS: Normandy 1944 Map and DCS: World War II Assets Pack will be available for download by late April 2017.
More details coming this weekend in the Newsletter!
The DCS: Normandy 1944 Map is centred on the World War II battlefield of Normandy, France and is specifically created to depict the period after the D-Day landings and the establishment of several allied airfields in Normandy to support the beachhead breakout in late June 1944. The map measures 267 x 348 kilometres and includes airfields in both Normandy and southern England. The map includes the famous D-Day landing beaches and the “Atlantic Wall”, rolling bocage fields of Normandy, large cities like Caen and Rouen, ports of Cherbourg and Le Havre, and 30 airfields. The map also includes multiple seasons and more detail and accuracy than any previous DCS World map by utilizing new map technologies.
A vital aspect of creating an authentic World War II battlefield is to populate it with matching artificial intelligence (AI) World War II assets. The DCS: World War II Assets Pack provides numerous World War II air, land and sea assets to populate the Normandy and other DCS World maps with. wow, just reading ED’s forum, everybody that is not happy with their business model have been banned… wtf?? you can’t complain?
I don’t think they have been, I saw plenty of complaints; however I don’t think they are wrong. What’s pretty stupid is that the people that have been complaining that they don’t want a WW2 map, and have been told it doesn’t just have to be used for WW2, are now complaining that they won’t get the WW2 unit automatically. It’s a bit of a cheek. So ED are saying you can buy the map as a stand-alone or you can buy the units as a stand alone, but you can also buy both together in a package (which I will do).
People on flight sim forums really just seem to want to moan at every little thing sometimes - and the DCS forums can be terrible for it! (reminds me of the old IL2 Ubiforums where Kurfurst always stated the Bf109 was the greatest plane to have ever flown, ever ever. Even better than the F-22, Eurofighter and Su27 - then he’d find some badly photocopied, barely readable, graph to prove it!)
We’ll need to come to an agreement between the squad as to what we will be doing, but I’ll be buying the map and the units.
I intend to purchase the pre order at the end of March/ beginning of April.
Yeah, I’ll buy the bundle probably around the same time-frame as Puff.
I just wish they had managed to make the Black sea map for 2.x by then so I could ditch 1.5, but eventually (Two weeks, be sure…).
I think it is due Q1 of the new financial year…so in the next three months or so…but then it was due before Christmas - so not holding my breath! Normandy will be in 2.0 though, not 1.5, so you’ll need both version still
