No flying for me tonight and probably none over the weekend either. 
Not sure if I’ll fly tonight or on thursday, I am sure I will be flying on next monday (25/3) though, but IRL, heading for the land of Su’s and Mig’s. Probably not back the monday after, but hopefully the thursday after that.
I’m back home, but I have a serious visual problem at the moment. My glasses broke while in Moscow, I had to buy a cheap pair to hold me over, and while they work, they are really awful in front of a screen. My old pair works in front of the screen at work, but not for anything else, and all the switching between glasses makes me kind of dizzy. So, I don’t think I will fly until my glasses problem is sorted…

Right, most of you are aware, I won’t be available until probably mid-August. I’ve split with Laura and I’m between houses right now. My new place will be available from 7th August. I’ll need to get broadband set up and all of my stuff moved across. It’s going to be time consuming and awkward.
Once set up I have my weekday evenings free, mostly, with the girls at weekend. I can still be on after 8 on those nights, but I don’t think I’ll do it every night; I’ll still have other stuff going on too 
Looking forward to getting back into things though. I’ll be able to dedicate time to the website and mission building, properly, again.

Sorry I have been AWOL for the past two-three weeks but have been busy finishing off an order for a Dutch customer, its been unbearably hot here and last week I was in Lake Como in Italy for a sailing competition. I did advise our Italian friends but visibly none were in the area. I may fly this week, but again temps are expected to be near the 40°C so will see how things pan out. Summer hols in Aug and will be going with sim kit to country home in Brittany. I have broadband there but the connection won’t be as good as in Paris were we have an optical fibre connection.
Wife is occupying the computer tonight, so no flying for me.
Not sure if anyone else from 41 reads the forums anymore 
but anyways, no flying for me this (long) weekend (we call tomorrow Jesus flying day), will be at the summer house instead. Well, I might, just might, fly on Sunday, other-vice back on monday.
No show from me tonight, again, my flying PC has packed up, it starts up and I can log in, but just after I log in it totally freezes, unresponsive to both mouse and keyboard, and doesn’t react to the reset button or start/close button unless I hold it down for 10 seconds or so. Worked just fine earlier today, but this started after I restarted to prepare for tonights flying.
I will not start searching for the problem tonight, saving it for the weekend.
I saw a quick review on the new AMD CPU’s that they are starting to sell today, and am tempted to buy a new PC, current one is around 5 years old, if not more, but I would have preferred to wait a month or two before starting the new build. I want to see how the new AMD GPU’s will perform…
Well, it seems that my flying PC is now a write-off. 
I started trouble shooting on Friday evening, loosening everything and putting it back, running on built-in graphics instead of the AMD R9-290 and so on, no joy. Started wondering if it might be the PSU acting up, but then at one startup try, when loading BIOS it warned that the CPU was overheating. Aha! The Corsair H80 closed loop cooler have given up! So a trip to the store to get a new cooler yesterday, bought a nice black BeQuiet cooler, got home and started mounting, but at the last stage of the mounting I found that the cooler was just a tad bigger than there was room for, the heatpipes on one side touched the plastic that is like a ridge around the CPU in the Asus Sabretooth Z87. Figuring it was such a wee bit of I would mount it anyway, so I did. Got the rest installed and tried to start it. All seemed ok, but I didn’t get any picture, checked and I had forgotten to plug in the extra power cables for the R9-290! Quick shut off and plugged in the missing cables. Started again, and monitor is still black. So maybe that torquing down of the cooler wasn’t such a good idea after all. Removed the cooler, and exchanged it for a smaller cooler at the shop today. Installed that one, and — nothing!
When starting the computer all the fans spin, nothing indicated on the MB that anything is wrong, but no picture on the monitor (several monitors tested as well), tried to use both the build in graphics and the R9-290, both HDMI and DisplayPort, and no picture on any of them.
Either my CPU is fried from the overheating (which would surprise me considering the built in protection on the MB), or I destroyed something by trying to run the graphics without power the extra power to the card, and somehow that affects the built in graphics as well.
By now I have pretty much given up and will start looking for what to buy to replace it with, I had started thinking about upgrading anyway, but my plan was 1-3 months into the future, but I might do it in steps now with new motherboard, CPU and RAM to begin with, and later on new graphics card (I really want to see what AMD will bring to the table with their new series of cards coming in a couple of weeks)…
Btw, I did check if it would be possible to find a cheap socket 1150 CPU to keep it alive with, but I’m doubting it’s worth it if it turns out it’s the MB that is broken.
Anyway, no flying for me for a while.
Oh, long time since I wrote here. Both the motherboard and the CPU was broken. I ended up buying a AMD Ryzen 5900 instead (new MB and memory needed as well). Still haven’t found a graphics card to upgrade to, but at least I can fly.
But to the reason I write here today, no flying for me on thursday, I will be some 240km away from the computer over the extended weekend…
Back on monday is the plan.

No flying for me tonight, slept like shit last night and have a slight headache. On a more positive note, my wife is finally coming home this weekend, so I have to clean the apartment, not sure if I’ll be able to fly on thursday.
