Any regular flight nights here for this yet?
Its certainly getting better and better with each patch, would be nice to dust off my online flying gear if there were regular meets for this.

Im online most nights, using TS3 and the ToW server. Anyone is welcome to fly with me
Puff, did your skin make the skin pack?
Splash
Yep it did mate, many thanks for that
Anyone fly the Eindecker, whats your thoughts?
I didn’t purchase it, but I did fly it a lot during testing. Its a sturdy aircraft with a very poor roll rate, turns well enough but if flown well can hold its own against the N11 and can outclass the DH2.
I was up against two the other night in my N11, dragged them from 6000ft down to the deck before two DH2’s arrived and helped me out.
I would have loved it to be more dangerous to fly because of the wing-warping.
But I just flew it one day
All the planes are dangerous, but luckily not all of the time
Puff Ming Brigstock and Voss’s names have been added to the Rise of Flight roster of online pilots that Han maintains, not sure what happens next on that but pushing the boat out
I’m wondering if we need an online squadron handle, maybe EAFWW1 or something like that? Just EAF? Trying to work some romance in there but based on our European Air Force heritage. There’s squadrons like {{&&}} in there probably so just a thought
I like EAFWW1 now I’ve looked at it, it’s pithy and essentially still us
To get on to the list of the squadrons of Rise of Flight I mean. I haven’t felt the need to declare the EAF’s interest in getting listed but if Brigstock you’re getting interested I figure we’ll have campaigns organised in short order so- we’ll need a squadron identity to keep things simple.
And we’ll be needing an EAFWW1 skin of course for the Flyboys of the EAF

Pete,
quick question for ya.
Is the Camel meant to be a right pig to turn right in coz I seem to always have problems with it?.
Hehe, yep, its a sod to turn right, with full tanks use top rudder to keep the nose on the horizon and don’t pull to hard of she’ll stall on you. Oh and don’t mention the camel turn problem on the forums…unless you want another 20 page thread started about the camel FM lol
It’s all true Puff
It’s the left-turn that’s the tricky one Chris, you need to dig the nose in before starting the turn or the Camel will try to zoom up, that must have killed a few rookies
The right-hand turn seems ok for me, I suppose one needs to point the plane up before starting a right-hander to compensate for the engine’s angular momentum/gyroscopic precession again - or the plane will take a nose dive and I know that initiating the right-hand turn too soon after takeoff definitely killed many pilots in training
We’ll sort all this stuff out when we’re (small) mob-handed on comms. I know I could do with some basic flight instruction especially engine management, I’m only flying with auto-engine management - it’ll probably take us half an hour to get into the air - engine stuff’s so fascinating
Have a look at the movie over there Chris demonstrating how a rotary engine means that sometimes the plane moves in ways that are not what you’d expect, because of this gyroscope wanting to fight against our outside interference. Gyroscopes are for maintaining stability (V2 and so on) in my book- but one finds that they don’t like to be messed around with. But it makes the plane unpredictable and the opposite of the ‘on rails’ FM, I mention no names Aces High
Ah found it for you- http://riseofflight.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=12311&hilit=rotary - page 2 especially with the mysterious case, scale it (the mass of the rotor) up to 100kg then climb on see what happens, I’m thinking bucking bronco

Requeim has also made some fantastic movies …check out all the stuff here, really nice tutorials
More goodness from the ROF team, Sopwith Triplane and the Pup!
New Update with special prices on all planes till 12th October.
All planes are on sale! The Pup and Triplane are just $3.99 each and ALL other planes are just $2.99!
Good time to fill up his hangar
News
Edit: Update is up now- 99Mb
Thanks for the heads up Paf, last time they had a deal like that they notified me a week to late.
Bump, I think others need to know this.
Missed the offer but bought the Pup. She’s absolutely lovely and worth every cent
Am trying to learn the Dr. 1 in my very limited time at the moment. She seems to turn using the rudder and the ailerons are simply there to keep everything in check
Don’t forget chaps that the EAF has its own WW1 core-team* beta testing team for Rise of Flight, WW1EAF. Which ‘squadron’ (all-EAF team really, to comply with the RoF team’s core-team requirements) you may apply to join via the usual channels (core-team beta testing application)

Salute to EAF!
If you are interested in RoF there is an J99 server where we have open trainings on Tuesdays and on Thursdays.
It starts about 9 p.m. until 12 p.m.
On the map are targets for bombers and space for fighters.
We change the planeset every two weeks.
Now we have Fokker Elll + Gotha vs DH2 + HP400.
We know the bombers don´t fit too much together with fighters but it is RoF and we don´t have any others… and it makes fun!
