I’m signed up for Flying Legends for the first time ever! Who will join me?
I’m traveling with 4-5 other Norwegians and would love to meet everyone from EAF who is coming!
I will spend the weekend in Cambridge, on Fenners Hotel. We can meet on the airshow or take a pint in a pub. Preferably both!
Who’s with me to Flying Legends?
I hope to go this year for the first time too, thinking of camping at a site close by, and shuttle bus’s run you back and forward to the show, will post up when ever I book it, oh and the Mrs Red is going as well
Very sad to hear you might have no work OD! I wish you the best to stay in work or finding another suitable job. I hope things may change to the better and you might be able to join after all.
In the end I hope more of us can join for a fly-out and then a pint-out.
Ticket prizes are 31 pounds. No need for gold pass. Bring a food packet (niste!) like a proper Norwegian.
Can you guys pass on Hotel info for me. I need recommendations where is best to stay.
Thanks.Would be more fun if I can stay at the same hotel with other EAF. More beer time in the hotel bar!!
Thanks for the appreciation. Unfortunately due to lack of money and will have to give up work in conjunction to this extraordinary event. I’m hoping for the 2017.
Free bus ride to Duxford from Cambridge Rail station! For everyone with a Flying Legends or Imperial War Museum ticket (IWM ticket included in Flying Legends!).
First bus goes 8.30 if I remember. I will be there.
There is a free shuttle bus to IWM Duxford from Cambridge Rail Station via Trumpington Road - Park & Ride on Air Show Days only. A member of staff wearing IWM uniform will be able to direct you from the front of the station.
The first bus is at 8.30am and there is a bus every 20-30 minutes until 1.30pm. There is a return service which starts at 3.00pm every 20 minutes up until 6.30pm although please check this information on the day.
APOLLO: I’m staying at Fenners hotel in Cambridge. It’s basically a simple but professional Bed Breakfast and was recommended by my Norwegian author friend. I think it is full unfortunately.
You might want to get a move on Eric. According to Booking.com , 78% of the hotel rooms are already booked for the Flying Legends weekend and no doubt the final ones left will be the overly expensive ones.
Failing that, you could get one of those single man pop up tents on arrival and pitch it up behind Reds tent. One big bonus of this is Red’s bar will be open later than any hotel bar in Cambridge
