DCS WWII: Europe 1944

And here we go:

Sounds too good to be true…we will see.

it’s a kickstarter project!

Fan pay and if they get enough funds they will start the project, over that limit the more they get the more game content they will add…!
as a fan you pay in advance for something that could never come…
this could go wonderfully of fuck it up…

as for me may be i could invest some bucks there to increase competition in wwII flight sims…

Yes, Im thinking about it too, if it was only Luthier’s new project probably I’d say no, but with DCS framework, and The Fighter Collection behind it…it could be a winner.

Oleg’s back!!!

Ok just in advisory capacity, but…

Gone Berserk and pledged some money!!!

come on it’s the time to make flight sims shine again!
and adding to the competition is great for that
and fuck Ubsioft!

Done the same here Jimmi, I spent the same as I would have going out on the piss ona Saturday night, at least it saves me a headache

If they do the planes like the DCS P51 with clickable cockpits etc, I think I will have wasted my money with BoS, that just looks to me as ROF WW2 style.

I’ll gonna wait and see if it gets more interesting to me. Right now the map looks really small for a westernfront-sim (bomber-offensive).

I pledged already. Not that I like how Luthier is doing the kickstarter (we need more communication and beliveable stretch goals) but only because of ED, The Fighter Collection and the superb DCS P51.

I have to say that DCS:WW2 is starting to appeal to me more than BoS. Due mainly to the theatre of ops. I’ll probably end up with both sims but I think DCS will be my favourite.

Oh, and CoD and RoF and ARMA3!

So many aircraft to fly, so many games to play and just not enough hours in a day!!

WB.

Made my pledge today.

Almost 75% there with 21 days to go.

WB.

$100,000 reached and 12 days to go.

The first goal, 100000€, has been met.

Still, if you are not sure if pledging or not, or you don’t plan to fly DCS, you could still pledge for just 1€. The number of people pledging for a flight sim is important, showing a broad user base is good for the future of the genre…or at least we try

Now its been reached I’m more tempted at the $40 level, do any of you fly it online in any missions or just offline for now??

ther’s some interest in 51 with some pilots (4-5 have it) trying it and starting the first online missions…

Most of 92 fly DCS in some form or another online, usually on a Friday.

On DCS WWII a concern I have is around the lack of a UK base, which will mean airstarts. This kind of defeats the uniqueness of DCS in that starting cold on the ramp is half the fun. I can’t help feeling that this oversight will spoil it.

Another point is that I do not like how Luthier has moved the goalposts with the stretch goals about as well. I couldn’t give a stuff about a flyable Me262, the B17 is what I think would attract the most people.

You are right Keets, the mapsize is really a bad choice in my opinion. I think the Me262 would be great to have as a DCS plane. Imagine the engine-management, hehe. But I would have preferred a Tempest for the planeset. A B17 would be lovely, but I think its too much work for the initial release.
I hope it will be a success and we can have another WW2 Sim around, but I still have my doubts. The Kickstarter could have changed my doubts if it has been more structured with regular updates. But it all smells like CLOD again  Wasn’t there another “breathtaking video” announced for tuesday??

yeah, if not for ED I would not back it up. Luthier, I don’t trust him, and even less with the poor kickstarter he is doing…

Things might be getting better, they are releasing the Edge SDK to make maps.

There are some very talented map makers for IL2, maybe this might evoke a response from some of them if they haven’t backed it already.

The Med would be my choice from Italy to North Africa with Malta.

Team fusion are already showing an interest.

I’ve jumped in with $40 bucks in the hopes to fly the most detailed Spitfire IX ever done.
