A 60-70 miglia sei già in aria. Sono passato un paio di volte in volo dentro all’hangar
Too bad decent graphics card is both very expensive and very hard to find.
I could use a new one as well, but I’m not that eager to pay €1000 for a new one (if I could find one).
Unfortunatly the market of vga don’t change before the 2022… this is sure… if AMD get out whit something, the market will change… but is really difficult to see if this happens this year or not…
AMD already have pretty good offerings, but they are just as unobtainable as Nvidia, and similar price.
Intel is about to launch graphics cards that might be at least kind of competitive, but I don’t think that will make a huge difference.
Btw, if you are thinking about getting more HD/SSD space, get it as fast as you can because it seems the next cyber currency will be based on loaning out space.
Think Bitcoin, but a different name, and instead of having your CPU, or more likely, your GPU doing math (for no particular reason other than using up power and turning it to heat) to mine them you use the amount of space you have on HD/SSD do the “mining” for you. So you want to have as much space available to get as much of the crypto currency as fast as possible.
Yes, I’m starting to be more and more negative to all these crypto currencies that create “value” by using up resources that could be put to better use. I anything, this is what Greta should be upset about!
Back on topic, I bought the Channel map yesterday, and today I really want to get a better graphics card! I currently run a AMD R9 290 with 4Gb memory, probably around 6 years old, can’t remember exactly. 2560x1440
Flying P-51 on channel map, from Manston to Biggin Hill, fps mostly around 22-23, dipped below 20 over Canterbury. Flyable, but not really enjoyable.
Spitfire over Caucasus (Beslan airport and surroundings), got around 43 fps most of the time, no dips below 20, not sure I was ever under 30 even.
P-47 over Normandy, in the free flight instant action mission. Started in the middle of clouds, dived down to friendly ships and turned in over land. Quite a log going on, not a “clean” mission, lots of smokes, ships and some planes. Got between 25-30 fps, dropped under 20 fps when flying through smoke at low alt over a small town.
Generated a quick mission over Normandy in a Viggen as well, but the generator made it a night mission, so… Between 30 and 40 fps in that one at least, but pretty irrelevant.
Anyway, Channel felt a little less smooth then it did last time I tried it, but it has always been the most taxing map for my hardware.
I didn’t check Persian gulf or Syria map. I suspect Persian gulf will be equal with Caucasus, and Syria map about same as Normandy, maybe even a tad better.
yeah i’m interested/curious in bitcoin mining myself but i’m too concerned on the reaource waste!
i’ve tried mining 10 days to see jowmit works but only during daytime when my solar panels cover the “waste”
Also i checked for ethic coins but didn’t find much! ther’s a curecoin coin that uses your computing power for scientific research (proteins foldings and covid cure too) but unlukily it has very low value…
