With Your GPU DCS struggle to load and unload textures and so the poor’s performance. Definitely You need a new one, even a 2070 or 2080 or a 6800xt could be Your game changer.
Sorry if it’s in italian… but now they are talking about the price of ssd and hd…
The sad thing is that the only graphics cards that is available to buy here at the moment is Nvidia 710, 1030 or 1650 (all worse or at best about equal with my current card) or 3090 or 6900 cards costing around €1900 and up, and I’m not going to buy a new graphics card for that kind of price…

And you pay a 1650 too much… i have to buy a vga for my girlfriends but i refuse to pay this price… and for now she use nvidia now…

I have The Channel Map, Normandy, Spit and P51.
By the way with my GTX 1070 it still can run ok.

How does it perform, will you recommend it?
It’s a charm to fly, need missions ad hoc (historic contest, russo/finnish front) cause of performance compared to late war warbirds that we have on DCS, but aprt this I love flying it. As benefit, the guys that brought us the module are working on a La-5 so buying it could be seen also as a form of supporting them for future Russian’s warbirds in DCS 
In sale cost very few bucks so…

He is very nervous, but extremely fast in changes of direction. Landing gear management is quite complicated. Otherwise it is also fun to use and sufficiently armed to take in front of any opponent. It is not an example of stylistic elegance and design, but that was not of primary importance for the Soviet mentality. Functionality more than attention to the details.

Absolutely! One of the best flight i had was on it! Was free flying over Caucasus Map and found power-lines, so i started playing flyin under them and ended flying a barrel roll evolution between each pilon of the line. Made 5 or 6 rolls in a row! It was sheer fun!
It’s absolutely unstable (perfect fighter plane concept) and no trim, so if you have an heavy joystick prepare to struggle a lot! At the same time is super super agile!
PS hope to you use it more and more as a bait to train Trainee use their energy against low agile targets… (pretty stressing if you’re defenisve in VR…)

Octopus also upgrade engine management in one of the last patch…
