There’s a review of the two versions over at SimHQ, looks like the main difference is the campaigns.
I really want this, but my creaking system will be brought to its knees. Going to have to wait until I grow back an arm and leg having got the kids christmas presents.
Found um here they are:
MINIMUM: CPU: 2 GHz; RAM: 1 GB; Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce FX with 256 MB of RAM / ATI Radeon X1300 with 256 MB of RAM or equivalent; 3 GB free HD space; Operating system: Windows XP SP2 and Vista with DirectX 9 or 10.
Repent, you have played the game would you say this is realistic specs?
well, yes and no, its playable on low detail, resolution, draw distance settings, and its also playable at 30-40 fps cos its a lot slower than banging about it a fixed wing aircraft.
to get the real beauty of this sim you need a pretty decent system, its more cpu hungry than gpu.
i run it on high everything on my C2D 6850 @ 3.6ghz, 2gb ram, ati 4870, it worked fine on 4850 and on 9800GX2 as well, i even got it running nice on a friends PC with a 7600!!
its an awesome sim and i look forward to some multiplayer with some of you guys.
Just picked this up - runs OK at the moment on medium settings and flew my first mission - a familarisation flight, following a Hind on a local sightseeing tour.
And I manged to land the beast - first time (althought not exactly on the pad!)
Bloody impressive physics in there - you can tell when the weight is on/off the wheels and the details are astounding - even down to the Hind pilot pointing out the local spa/bottled water tourist places!
Level of detail is bonkers - in the manual that there is a page(s) in the ARBIS thingy about checking your satellite navigation system is working!!!
In a word - stunning!
NB: Anyone got a X52 profile for this to get me up and killing things quicker?
