Battlefield 2 has officially gone GOLD!
The game will begin shipping under the EA GAMES brand starting Tuesday, June 21, 2005.
In Battlefield 2, players will choose to fight for one of three military superpowers: the United States, China, or the newly formed Middle East Coalition. Armed with the latest modern weaponry, players can take control of any of the gameās 30+ vehicles. Players can also hone their skills against improved enemy intelligence in the new single-player campaign before competing online with up to 64 players in some of the most intense battles on the PC.Enhanced team play features allow players to enter the action on the front lines as part of a formal squad, or work behind the scenes in Commander Mode to direct the strategic assaults of their teammates. With the new online character ranking and persistence, players increase their rank and unlock awards, including new weapons, medals, and more.
Developed by Sweden-based developer, Digital Illusions, the creators of the original Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 is rated āTā (Teen) by the ESRB and has an MSRP of $49.99.
Supposedly the demo will be available June 10th, exclusively via GameSpot

Iāve maked my Pre-Order and canāt await 22.06.2005. Release Date here in Germany
I know that the demo will be released this week at Friday 10th June.
I have downloaded all videos and I must say, that this is the best online Warsim that I ever seen.
Maybe when next year came out Operationflashpoint2 then this one will be betterā¦but we have to wait.
S!
the 10th? butbutā¦ Iām gonna be hiding and playing GTA:SA thenā¦
I know that the demo will be released this week at Friday 10th June.
Thanks Warlord and Iāve signed up at XFire in case I can get the download quicker
Ming
I also signed up to XFire too, so we can meet us there when the demo is outā¦

S!
Nice one Warlord I will look out for you soon - we can meet up in the EGF

Really good fun in there on that Oman map, beautiful and very complicated things happening - bodies flying through the air mmm sweet. Graphics and models are stunning. Weapons donāt seem very accurate but itās a demo
In single player itās like Half Life 2 a bit, thatās interesting, hadnāt expected the NPC and player models to look so much like real troopers
The ragdoll enemy infantry. With the shotgun. In the conservatory
Good teamwork from the AI buddies - nice
In multiplayer though Iām getting hard-booted after something like 10 minutes and I need to boot up again - total lockup
Iāve made some fixes for Time and Iāve turned the graphics right down after the last boot - but Iāve changed to 1600x1200 so no need for high-quality graphics. Iāve turned off dynamic lighting and lowered my sights and will try again later
Can you imagine the WW2 mod when someone creates it? Blimey this is just the demo
That train, Iāve been hiding between the tracks and looking at it (big steel wheels to hide behind in my Support role) - the railways in FB are er, less well simulated
I can see why itās time-limited (fixable) but I canāt see why I get the lockup. Done those tweaks anyway and a stopwatch ready to check the next time
DanSaint in there and Iāll try our TS next time, see if we can kick some Iraqi arse
Must try The All-Seeing Eye too for finding servers
Ming
Yeah thats the real actionā¦Iāam love it mmmmmmmmm
For me no much probs for the momentā¦I try it with 1600X1200 but non much difference between 1024X768ā¦ok a little lagg but not sure if the lagg was caused by the resolution, but when I was turned back to 1024X768 no more lagg. For now I play 1024X768 4X AA and 4 Anisotrope with all settings on High, I think itās the better compromise. Good Frame.
But itās only the demo for this moment. Hope when EA puts his own Servers online then will no more laggā¦I hope it.
I love to pilot the Helicopterā¦itās fantastic. With the Jets I have more difficultā¦itās much harder to flyit because the Oman Map is a little bit small.
OK hope to meet you onlineā¦so we can have some Fun together :bmg:
S! SgtGunny51
That fixed it
I started to stay alive more, ignored the idiots firing at me for fun - on my side!
I answered calls to bring my tank over when the enemy was sighted somewhere, kept moving rather than hull-down, kept answering calls for help and then getting near the end of my hour on duty I saw a group of enemies infiltrating one of our bases - looks weird seeing a group of about 12 running through trees - all obviously communicating somehow - moving up as a unitā¦? Maybe theyāre on voice comms I thought
On the other side in the next one and later in the battle I found another group of about 20 infiltrating our non-capturable base. Slammed my tank against two of em, caught them against a water-tower crrrrunch! - well my gun was hot and I had to do something while it cooled!
Then I got an invitation to a squad and thatās how I found these squads working within the game, Alpha and so on - like OFP!
Looked around and found the āJoin Squadā section and it all became clear how these guys were communicatingā¦
Squads have leaders who show up on your map (and 3D map) so you can follow the team - really cool and more like Brothers In Arms than the old Battlefield. Very nice. Someoneās been listening to the players and learned lots from BF
Then things really hotted up lol - everyone seemed to find out about the squads at the same time and then two big groups were in a massive firefight - bloody amazing. This is just the demo

I havenāt read any of the previous posts since the demo was released but here is my take:
I think its a fun game, good for some laughs and comedy hurtling through air death moments but I donāt think I would buy it.
The sniper rifle renders people you cannont see by eye (to save resources, that doesnāt bother me) but you cannot hit them!! 1 chap was sat perfectly still (looked afk or something on an emptyish server with a 70 ping) and i shot him about 4 times , but nothing!
Annoyed I closed on him and once he was rendered without the zoom I could happily cap his assā¦ hmm
Its good arcadey fun and taken in its context its a bloody good laugh, but personally those things donāt hold my attention too long - longest to date I think was BF Vietnam but only cos you could blare tunes out while you skimmed the jungle tree tops
The medic paddles are funny! find a chap whoās life is slipping away on the floor, get your paddles out - CHARGING! CLEAR! THUD! wahey
managed to accidentally sneak up on a bad guy - for reference - couldnāt get them to shock him funny trying though
Scalability wise it looks like even quite low specs will run it at a reasonable speed at the expense of viewing distance and the usual.
i shot him about 4 times , but nothing!
Does the word Kevlar mean anything
Snipers are total gits we need teamplayers. Snipers are independent operators and I never saw one cap a point yet. Sitting in the bushes playing with themselves whereās me flamethrower
