Few years ago I saw them in action when I was in Sardinia…simply fantastic… and seeing them now from inside cockpit reveals what kind of ability they need to have!

Those firefighters are really working on the controls and there are not much room for error.
Do they have a military background or are they from civilian airliners?

When you fly under a simply cloud, the turbulence is hard, i don’t think over fire…
Looks like a fun job flying that CL415…That’s what I would like to do for a while.
On the contrary Luft. I think you will find severe turbulence over forest fires. The reason there is almost always turbulence under a CU/CB(CUmulus/CumulonimBus) clouds is because of rising warm air due to the heating of the ground by the sun and moist air of course. Heat causes turbulence.
BTW. I used to watch this TV series as a kid. UFO it was called. I loved it! LOL.

They definetly have. Most of the the Italian firefighting pilots are former Frecce Tricolori pilots.
