You can't fly lower than this

A big S! To this everyday heroes

Great footage!

… and great pilots!
We have the same planes in Italy. Pilots are often former aerobatic pilots, as they need guts to do what they do

About fire pilots: have you seen Steven Spilberg’s movie “Always” >> It deserves to be seen…

Great skills, thanks Nepe…and great job, really great job!! I think you really need steel balls to pilot in such unusual and unpredictable situations…nice!!
But you can go lower than this, i’ve got a video for you, and even a pic, let me search it!

Lower than sea level!?

Yep, I wanna see that

This is one of the video but…THESE ARE THE PHOTOS…

Those are just few examples…there are soooo many pics about low flying!!

Oh if such was allowed in air shows these days.

Yes Nepe, a due tribute to those Heroes!
Few years ago I saw them in action when I was in Sardinia…simply fantastic… and seeing them now from inside cockpit reveals what kind of ability they need to have!
Great!
Thank you!

Good movie. Very romantic.

Those firefighters are really working on the controls and there are not much room for error.

Do they have a military background or are they from civilian airliners?

I was also surprised to see them working like that on the controls

Video is from 43Group of the Spanish Air Force, so I suppose they have military background

Happy childhood memories!

WB.

This is the all the best…

When you fly under a simply cloud, the turbulence is hard, i don’t think over fire…

Looks like a fun job flying that CL415…That’s what I would like to do for a while.

On the contrary Luft. I think you will find severe turbulence over forest fires. The reason there is almost always turbulence under a CU/CB(CUmulus/CumulonimBus) clouds is because of rising warm air due to the heating of the ground by the sun and moist air of course. Heat causes turbulence.

BTW. I used to watch this TV series as a kid. UFO it was called. I loved it! LOL.

Do they have a military background ?

They definetly have. Most of the the Italian firefighting pilots are former Frecce Tricolori pilots.

For Italians: watch the interviews here:

For the others have a look at this book:
