I am a huge fan of ww1 flight simsi, ts an ere when flying was really flying. (sound like im a old fart) can’t wait for it to be released, will EAF be supporting it?

The old farts will definitely be giving it a go

They are beta testing it with an online war now http://www.adwwar.com/

New screen shotys came out on the 26th the Fokker D.VII

Rowan elegant Flying Corp took me away from my need for speed, firefox style jets, thinking in russian while targeting mavericks at dots ten miles away. The visual splendour of FC was married to aerial combat at its best at that time and I’ve been hooked ever since.

I’ve got high hopes for this conversion, especially as I can take it online. Autumn I’ve heard.

PS ~ Peegee is that the one based on the IL2 engine?

I must admit i love ww1 aircraft and think the il2 engine will be a great engine to run a ww1 sim.

This will be a must have i think.

From reading some of the forums i think the Flying Corp and Red Baron era will make a whole new community. I think i will upgrade my PC when this comes out.

If the new WW1 sim planes look anything like Wings of War paint schemes it will be amazing those Circus planes really were like gorgeous birds, beautiful plumage. Circus because gorgeous colours

We’ll have MetalG in a blood-red triplane on our tails with everything happening in slow motion <shiver>

S!

Yes, there are still plenty of people flying Red Baron who are certain to jump at the chance of flying a good, new WWI game.

Regards to all

It’s not in beta yet…Glennadich are server hosts for IL2 on HL, I forget which servers they host ATM, but it is their server management programme that’s in Beta not the game. It’ll be a while yet before it goes it gets a beta run out, they haven’t even finalized the game engine yet. It was going to use the IL2 engine, but the dev team have decided to write their own because of some of the limtations of the IL2 engine. Which will probably put the release back a little :frowning:

Nice find Ace  I remember seeing a site last year that showed photo’s of half a dozen N17 replica’s being made for this film. I was trying to keep up with it, but it dropped off my radar. That trailer looked good. I remember reading a biog piece on the Black pilot ( name escapes me ) but IIRC he was a former boxer who went to France because he had heard that it was a more tolerant society towards Black people and that he had a chance of making something of himself. Vive la France!!

It turns out there were two Black pilots in LaFayette, the one in the film is probably William Dugan, not who I thought he was. However below is a link to the extraordinary character who I was on about.

Nice

Yes now you come to mention it Brigs there was that black woman singer who was treated as a celebrity by the French. I was smiling cynically hearing his Dad talking about the French because the French aren’t exactly known for their anti-racism but both these guys say the same thing the French must have gone a bit downhill since the Twenties. War can do this to you

Josephine Baker that’s her

She became the first American woman to receive French military honors at her funeral

McCoy as in The Real McCoy was a black guy too. Two to beam up Jim

At the World Cup there’s the Angolans and a linesman from Rwanda scary places but they’ve made it to the world stage crikey make sport not war we had it wrong in the Sixties
