Gents,
A petition has been started on the Downing Street website to get Wootton Bassett officially honoured for the honour given to the returning dead Military Personnel on the repatriation flights from War Zones to the UK.
For those who do not know this parade started with a small number of Royal British Legion Veterans parading when the coffins of the fallen were returned to RAF Lyneham and driven through the town on the way to their final resting place.
Slowly word spread and now people travel from all over the country and line the street to honour the fallen, with the whole town ‘closing down’ and the convoy of vehicles stopping infront of the War Memorial to take the salute.

Take into account that as far as I can recall no member of this ungratefull excuse of a Government we have at the moment has attended any repatriation ceremony to honour those it has sent to do its dirty work and paid the ultimate price for this folly.
The wording is as follows
‘The people of Wootton Bassett in Wiltshire turn out constantly and selflessly to honour the servicemen and women who gave their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan and should be recognised by the Government for this meaningful act. It would be nice to see some sort of meaningful recognition and not just a line spoken in Parliament. A lot of people in the country are proud of what the town is doing and would like to see the Government recognise it too’.
