WII Online Screens (56k screen shot death)

Hi guys,

Here are some screens to give a small glimpse into the sheer scale of WWII Online…

I was waiting for the rest of a squad i joined to turn up at a forward base when this armour column rumbled through en route to Nivelle:

We heard them rumbling towards us from some distance away and then the got close:

Some troops were hitching a ride too:

Off they went after a brief stop and a chat:

And here they are disappearing into the distance… looked nice in game so i highlighted the tanks so you can see where they are…

apparently you can see up to 2km away on a clear day:

All the while there was aircraft roaring about above us patrolling etc… and earlier that night i was manning a 6 lber Anti Tank Gun in an ambush setup and nailed a panzer and a half track towing a artillery piece

What superb fun this game is!

£8 per month and dated gfx…but huge playability once you get past the quirks (I am still getting past them and just made corporal so I can use a wider variety of equipment now)

Here is a map comparison with some other MMO’s for an idea of scale:

Hi Insight,

I was suprised when I test offline this game…, the graphics is not superb, but is quite light for the computer and you can run it at full probs without any lag prob.
Even when I test the Spit MkIX , I was quite impressive…, not so good as IL2 but was really nice to fly it and nice view of the ground details that are nice when you saw it from the air.

I have a question, How many players are normally online ??? I eard that it was more less 600Players on primetime, is it true ???

Another questions is, Air force, Navy , infantery , Tanks , etc…, can interact eachother?? Like for example…, air force really see the infantary (humans) and can engage him???

If its true Im quite impressed and I will subscribe 1 month for testing!!!

S.

It seems that it was some pilots online , check the link:

Look at the total players online

My questions is, All this players can interact?

Yes Cassa m8,

The environment is one big map… there are no loading points between sections or anything.

You could jump in a bomber and fly from England to the other side of Eastern front in one go, no loading screens (would take you a long time mind)

There is always action in different areas so not all the players will be in one place at a time but the basic idea works as follows.

The allied high command and the equivalent for axis can assign up to 3 Attack Orders at once i believe. These indicate to the players where they are supposed to be attacking / defending etc. as a result I cannot possibly tell you how many people are on at once due to respawns and the fact that we are spread out over the 230km wide map

You will have people assigned to various tasks in an attack.

Infantry to go in and remove the AI gunners that defend the town (fixed gun emplacements for Anti tank and MG’s for anti infantry and deal with enemy infantry and generally flood the town.

Mobile Spawn Point drivers

Drive Bedford trucks to covered locations and deploy them so that people can use them to spawn from… sounds non realisitic but stops a huge taxi service going on from city to city.

Armour columns to go in and deal with enemy armour (or get blown up by 88’s which seems to happen frequently)

Air force flying CAPs to stop Stuka’s and he-111’s

Bombers flying close support for the troops ( I spent half an hour spotting on a vehicle spawn the other night calling targets which were promptly dispatched by the RAF)

There is lots to this game

I haven’t bothered with the naval side of it at all but coastal towns often come under heavy bombardent from destroyers and so on.

There are even freighter ships to drive a ship full of tanks over from England (I believe you use a crane to load them up)

There is subsequently generally 3 main areas of fighting on the map… around the attack and defend orders of each side.

People like the squad I joined do Supply cuts… when an attack is going in on a town or city, several squads will be called upon to take up interdiction positions to stop re-enforcements arriving in the front line town.

We also do airfield raids to tie up airfields and stop them spawning aircraft to go into battle as we shoot them up at the hangars for as long as we can… one such example I was on the Airfield raid mission for 3 and a half hours and managed to run back most of the way from behind enemy lines before pursuading a pilot to come and pick me up in a transport aircraft.

Its a big big big game and I believe there are more 14 day trials available

Another questions is, Air force, Navy , infantery , Tanks , etc…, can interact eachother?? Like for example…, air force really see the infantary (humans) and can engage him???

Sorry, didn’t address this question very specifically

Yes, i think there is a upper limit when there is a lot of people in one area so depending on the load it removes people from the landscape as far as you are concerned but I believe it only removes friendly units so that you can always see the enemy.

Destroyers can see troops running about from the sea.

Planes can bomb troops/tanks/boats and can see them (though it is tough to spot a Panzer hiding by a tree line when roaring past at 300mph  )

Troops can man anti aircraft guns agains aircraft

Troops can man anti tank guns

Basically… it pretty much does what it says on the tin, WWII Online

Do try it, the game play more than makes up for the gfx and (in places) quirky interface.

Many thanx for the explanation m8…, and WWoooww…, thats pretty amazing!! I hope there is some trial so I can try it…, cause I will start my vacations next week, and I will not be online until 21 of April. I would like to try it before I pay the month fee. Anyway…, just the thought that we can really see whats going on , in the ground , or by other words, we have all this infantary , airforce…, etc all together in the same game, its quite amazing!!

And I will try it for sure. If I subscribe I can go directly online? or I need to wait a few days for activation?

cheers S!

one such example I was on the Airfield raid mission for 3 and a half hours and managed to run back most of the way from behind enemy lines before pursuading a pilot to come and pick me up in a transport aircraft.

 I Need to try this game.

I dont have to many pacience to wait… :roflmao: So I already subscribe

Trying it tonight

S.

When I got my 14 day trial you download the game file and create an account.

It asks you for no payment info at all at this stage.

You get a confirmation email in return and you can play straight away.

14 days is from account creation I think.

Then it costs $9.99 for the game license (like buying it from the shop) and then you pay the monthly fee.

Very reasonable price really

Thanx m8,

I already subscribed. Tonight I will go for it…, I dont have a clue how this works but I like the Spit MkIX
There is a training first that we should join or you can go directly to action?

You can go directly into action if you like but you will need to rank up in the RAF to get your hands on the Spit.

It is frustrating but as we do not have an infinite amount of supplies it is better as new people cannot waste all the best equipment.

If you get in touch with me tonight when you are online (My ingame name is Insight1… type .m insight1 message and hit enter to message me directly

I will take you through how to join channels and so on and explain some things to you.

Try and ask someone how to join a channel and join channel 99 which is the help channel… the guys in there are useful too.

To join a channel press Ctrl+C to bring up your cursor.

Hit enter and the chat line comes up

To the lest you will see a little grid with F1 F2 F3 and F4 on it.

Click in F4 and type 99 then hit enter.

This tunes you to channel 99.

To use 99 press F4 and type a message…

Its a bit much at first but once you get used to it its easy enough to use.

I will be on from about 7 ish maybe a bit earlier.

Some of my Squad will take you up in a bomber as tail gunner to rank up faster possibly too.

Oh and the Spit isn’t out yet. the campaign started again (Allies won the last one) so we are back in Battle Of France times. Hurris and Spit Mk I i think

rgr…, I will do it m8

My callsign as usual will be Cassador

The Teamspeack server is of your squad or is general?

S!

There is a massive teamspeak server

I will give you the details in game in case there are any Axis spies watching !¬_¬!

Hey

I found this shot that may inspire you guys, remember no AI on this apart from ground defences (and not much of those), all of those are players

This must be an old one, towns look better than this now (not a great deal, but looks nicer)

Pilots,

I really advice this game…, It doesnt have beautifull graphics and the flying models are not so detailed like IL2, but have a playability impressive.
You can have on this game, the feeling that you are on a real war…, flying, Infantary, Navy , AAA…, you choose.

Related to flying, you even can transport (humans) troops behind enemy lines. I already catch a ride of one of this planes with paratroops, but offcorse I was not able to jump cause I aint my parachute
But when you are inside the plane you can see everythin like you really inside a transporter…, th other players seated next to you reloading, and you see all the takeoff and travel of this plane.

I dont need to tell that Im quite suprised with this game. I think you should try it.
