Ive put in the screen res as you can see but im still getting black bars either side when im flying…what did i miss?

I think you cant get real widescreen in Il2. It will cut away top and bottom to fit your screen.

And don’t play with the setup or video modes, it just sets you back to 4:3
I assume your monitor’s native res is 1440x900? (same as mine)
Not true wide screen as Paf says, but it still looks darn fine. You’ll get vertical black bars on the menu screens, that’s normal btw.

if i’m not wrong,you can set the wide resolution with IL2 Stab Too (and set others interesting little details,like realistic markings and so on )
