Something has broken on this forum it seems, I can’t see the top menu where one can choose new posts etc.

Yes, works for me again. And yes, I just pasted it in, almost too easy. Still not enough to make me happy about Discourse. 
this morning i was updating the various plugins and the forum core…

i usually update plugins and core every forthnight
evert 2 months i schedule a rebuild of everything from terminal and every 6 i update the linux distro…
