I recently saw ytwo war movies that are right in between horror and war.
Strange movies, but not so bad indeed.
The first is DEATHWATCH
During WW1 a group of British soldiers got lost in the fog, and arrive at a german trench. Someting starnge has happened there. All german soldiers are dead. A German surviver tells about something that push the soldiers to kill each other. radio does not work anymore, and strange things are happening. The British are trying to understand what’s on. Evil’s kingdom… What is happening to soldiers is related to their behauviour and their sins.
The second is R-POINT
This is Korean movie, in Korean language, with sub-titles in English.
The story is similar to the previous one, but take place during the Vietnam war. A lost patrol is asking for help. Another patrol is sent to investigate. When they arrive on the island, someting strange starts to happen.
If you like the genre, they are worth to be seen, but… do not take them seriously! Pure relax.
A routine military exercise turns into a nightmare in the Scotland wilderness. A group of British soldiers have to face strange enemies… Werewolves!
Imagine you’re leading a six man squad on a routine army exercise. You’re behind enemy lines. Your radio doesn’t work. You’re cut off and on foot in a vast, hostile wilderness. You hear somthing howling in the distance. Something’s out there… and it’s hungry. Very hungry. And hairy… very hairy. The sun is going down. And there’s a full moon. You’re missing the most important football match of the decade. And there’s every chance that you’re about to be eaten alive by a pack of vicious, snarling, blood-lusting, seven-foot tall werewolves. What do you do? Written by Yoni S. (info@filmrip.com)
The seqiuel (Fresh Meats) is in production in 2008.
I’ve heared of a Dutch movie where the Germans came back out of the sea like zombies, they wanted to invade the Netherlands again. I forgot about its name and haven’t seen it myself
