VULCAN FORGE - A Realistic 10 Mission AV-8B Campaign on NTTR

Really enjoying this offline campaign, only iron bombs and rockets to start with but just flown a really intense mission 3 low level fast strike mission in the dark to rescue prisoners, with only one shot at hitting the target. Decent voice overs, waypoint maps and target pics all add to the finish. Well recommended.

Only on mission 4 now

Sounds interesting Thx for heads up!

Its really good Mram, little twists that keep you on your toes and really assisting the ground war. For example mission 1 you take out a compound that your convoy is lasing, they then move on towards an airfield and then are ambushed, popping red smoke they call in for a rocket attack. It get more involved and tougher, with airbase moves to taking off in the day and landing back at night…but you didn’t fit the NVGs. Trying to land with just the flir on a basic landing strip with no lights…i can see why so many crashed landed night flying. The campaign is at the right level for us and help get slicker at using the weapons and instruments. Laser guided bombs, Mavericks that are lased, using the TPOD, flying at full loads taking off in strong winds, night flying, dodging sams and AAA…and I’m only at mission 6  and yes I’ve died.

I like the different voice overs especially, to the air controllers, to the F18 fighting above and the marines on the ground calling in for the support, with the fire fight going on behind them. All adds to the immersion.

Just we could fly them as a coop.

This sounds bloody cool. Will have to put some more stick time in the Harrier.

I wonder if it works on pre-merged Nevada?

Sounds really cool and would be nice to fly it in multiplayer:) I don’t currently have the Nevada map but will look into it.

Just flown the first mission on this (and eaten a MANPADS for my trouble). V realistic and plausible!

Great campaign with excellent voiceovers & atmosphere.

Once completed Flash, I edited the mission and flew them at night. You can see the laser tagging the target from your ground forces. Very cool I thought.

One of the very low level missions attacking a building, I recommend swapping to snake eyes as I blew myself to bits with the usuals bombs.

Just completed the second mission. Missed the trigger somehow, but (having learnt a bit on Harrier OCU) managed to get the DMT to mark the target and rippled off Mk82s on the target. Result!

Now for third op at night!

Finished the whole campaign with 95% success.

Very very immersive (Syrian AF calls on Guard radio) and pitched just at the right level that even a Harrier newbie like me can go kill things - with an escalating set of skills to learn/be aware of.

Had to swap out weapons a couple of times (Mavericks for GBU-12s) but on the whole a phenomenal campaign. Five stars on Trip Advisor - would deploy again!

I may have to look into that then. Only thing is I find that if I am on the PC then I am online and I don’t tend to have time for single player/mission editing as much as I would like.
