"Under the Wire" (Book)

The wartime diary of William Ash, Spitfire pilot, shot down and captured by the Germans, who become a great escapologist. Most of the story, written in a fine English with a good sense of humor, is telling the different attempt of escape of the allied pilots from Stalag Luft III.
Reading the book you can also uderstand that the story told by the movie “The Great Escape” was not so far from reality.
