I’ve had a couple of shaky landings but never overshot… and if I thought I might not make it I’ve turned my ‘landing’ into a touch and go… then simply rejoined the circuit and come round again!:eek:
Yup, should have powered up when the wheels hadn’t touched the ground when more then half (make that 3/4!) of the runway had already passed…
Didn’t look like the easiest runway in the world anyway.
That’s an interesting one to get on tape anyway.
i would have come in over the water but then again if you do this from that way you wont get over the hill

You have to land into the wind so he had no choice.
That was a clear decision, go around… no brainer.
Looks a tricky approach though, nice hill placement. He was going too fast it looked like though.
Speed is probably a hard 1 to call there as that hill at first dose not look all that big but when he gets down low you then see how big it really is but yes when he went past half way he should have opened it up and gone round again.
Yes but you will have a set approach speed for an aircraft that you are trying to maintain all the way down.
I guess the hill freaked him out a bit, he was either to high or fast (or both I suppose) on the approach leaving him flaring very late down the runway.
At least they were all ok, dented pride I should imagine. Easy to look at and point out what he could have done wrong 
Not so easy being there and making the call.
Always err on the side of caution seems a good rule in aviation though
Just one simple plain answer… GO AROUND!!
As a rule of thumb: never force yourself into an uneasy landing like this one…
