Have you lads had ago in the “new” Il2 plane, really exciting ground attack missions and tough with the AAA now. Looks and feels really polished already and this sim is shaping up well and dare I say it the new Il2 of the future imho.
As a pure fighter jock I’m actually really enjoying the ground attack lark and the sense of speed as you dive in for the attack is tremendous, quickly firing off a salvo of rockets and rewarded as a few of the enemy convoy erupts in flames but no time to look as yellow 20mm tracer arches up towards you, flashing by and accompanied by the black flak bursts while you go flat out trying to hug the ground and only daring to pop up to the miss the trees. Very well done!! Bring on VR.

I’d actually choose to fly one in a mission, even if it was a one way trip. The cannons just purr and devastate with extra large explosions now!! She moves well if slow but hoped to be a bit more rugged, I also like the new gunner’s views. The Bump mapping terrain and even the cracked ice all make the landscape look very believable.
Don’t get your hopes up too soon Swoop.
The real sequel to IL2 is CloD, especially in terms that it uses a much updated IL2 engine and can support 100 players online, with lots happening on the ground.
I have serious doubts that BoS will ever achieve anything like that. Remember BoS is essentially WW2 RoF it only shares the IL2 brand because Jason bought the name. Take it from me as a long time RoF user, the recreation of the Battle of Stalingrad will be a muted affair, nowhere near the historical numbers in missions that were actually there at the time. It will look nice and fly well as long as there are only a handful of ground target and half a dozen aircraft.
I’ve just asked the Devs Brigs so hopefully we might get an answer to that.
I hope it can be improved indeed. Otherwise it won’t be that populary for Multiplayer.
That said, I am flying the Stuka right now and its maybe the best model yet.
Well it can’t be long till we get multiplayer and we might get some ideas.
Cool to hear about the Stuka Paf, personally I wouldn’t even think to fly her but in this I bet she quite special.

I have Brigs and it make me want to join you in your missions even more…so many sim so little time. I’ve not flown a Camel since our last outing = AI bait.

Yes, we’ve been testing it since some time. Not so much to report for now, mainly tweaking of the netcode.
