I got this DVD this evening.
Good movie, based on a true history, and on the book “Ghost Soldiers” by Hampton Sides, telling the story of a rescue operation by a Ranger unit in Philippines in order to make free the soldiers made prisoniers by the Japanese after the Bataan battle.
Copmpared with the book, I found the movie maybe using a little too much the personal stories of the soldiers.
On the other hand it seem to describe quite well the situation of Philippines under the Japanesre occupation. There is also an interesting historical introduction to the event, with original footages. The combat scenes are also good. All in all a good movie.
Some years ago I also read the book on which the movie was based. The book is obviously more precise in telling the history othe operation itself.
