Not bad…

looks good but you can tell its starting to look its age, but that should not matter when above a couple of thousand feet.

The ground textures just don’t look up to scratch. If I was to be flying in this I would likely be low to the ground in the Hurricane Mk IId/c. I’ve reinstalled Cliffs for SoW and elements do still look good. I like the cockpit shadows and the cockpits as whole look a lot better than BoX, but they’re not as good as DCS.

I have always liked the idea of North Africa, I just don’t want to see it in Cliffs. I think it needs to be in BoX. It would be a relatively straight forward scenario for them as most of the aircraft are already in the game, it would require the map but they seem to be pretty quick with those.

TFS 5.0 - New Flyable Aircraft

Work is well underway in the completion of all new aircraft being introduced to TFS 5.0, the highly anticipated expansion of IL-2 Cliffs of Dover Blitz.

Whilst the new North Africa map is generating much excitement and deservedly so, the sheer amount of new flyable aircraft, whether totally new, or new tropical variants to existing Cliffs aircraft that historically took part in the North African theatre has previously not been stated in one announcement.

This is that announcement!

Torpedo run!!!

I am intrigued as to where TF found a MkV HF. I have never heard of this type ! HF normally stands for High altitude Fighter generally indicating that the engine supercharger was designed to cut in at a greater altitude than the standard engine. The first true high altitude Spitfire was the MkVI fitted with 4 bade prop and pressure cabin. The MkV did have a special low altitude version designated LF when fitted with an M45 M meaning it had a cropped supercharger rotor. The standard engined MkV was later designated F.MkV.
Funnily enough the MkVI tested against standard MkV had a lower rate of climb, lower service ceiling, lower Full Throttle height and was slightly slower. All this due to some engine power being used by the pressurisation system in the MkVI

As much as that is the plane that I have wanted for years that terrain looks terrible. The first one…are those rocks or tanks? After this much time I would’ve hoped that they had got the terrain looking a lot better than that.
They don’t even seem to be upping the anti-aliasing on the developer systems, so there are load of Jaggies. Combine that with lacking support for VR and it’s just not something to buy for me.
