Stavo leggendo il train post sulla navigazione, quando mi sono imbattuto sulle sigle in oggetto: che significano di preciso?
Al momento ho capito che hanno a che fare con la velocità.
Qualcuno può dirmi dove posso trovare informazioni per approfondire il discorso?

TAS = True Air Speed this is your speed related to ground.
IAS = Indicated Air Speed this is the speed your instruments show (indicate), and its given by the air pressure, thus is less as air pressure decreases with altitude.
TAS is what you want to know in navigation, as it gives you the distance you are flying ina given time
IAS is important to make maneuvers with the airplane.

IAS = Indicated Air Speed - velocità indicata all’aria, la velocità indicata dall’anemometro (lo strumento che indica la velocità dell’aereo)
TAS = True Air Speed - velocità vera all’aria, è la IAS corretta degli errori dovuti alla variazione di densità/temperatura dell’aria alle diverse quote
GS = Ground Speed - velocità al suolo, velocità rispetto al terreno

In IL2 TAS = GS, dove creo che sempre voliamo senza vento, ma nella realtà TAS = GS - wind speed (vector equation, obviously)
PS- allora che penso, even in IL2, when you take off from a moving carrier you can see the difference between GS and TAS.
