Super fun night thank you!

Yesterday night has been a super fun night!

After 3 or 4 nights flying dcs spitfire i’m starting to get a feeling for it!
yesterday we flew on OD EAF training range…
thanks to Od, Red, Topsy, Jacks, Cappe, Dedalo and Cirso for the flyght and for buzzing me!

and here is a 1on1 from the week before Jimmi vs OD
(have still to check yesterday night ones TOM, but i’m not sure i got them on tape! Nice flying tough you got a nice revenge !)
after the vertical himmelman at the merge wich gave me a slighly advantage (Me turning in the vertical while Od bleeding E in an orizontal turn) the dogfight settled in a luftberry circle. Both forced to stay in, the first to get out of it prone to lose it.
For me was an important dogfight, good to get the right feeling and understand how much i can push the Spit.

some personal notes:
i soon lost the slight advantage i got at the merge.
the fisheye zoom was good to keep track of the enemy plane, but i understood too late i was loosing terrain because of the distorted vision
i was emergency power all in to improve the turn performance.
when i started to balck out i eased a little on the stick and tryed to make some high and low yo-Yos wich payed…
as soon as i got an advantage it was easier to maintain position even with less power and was able to relax the rpm and mainfold pressure, you can clearly see me checking the temps.
want to make more of this and andalyze them with TACVIEW…
anybody who wants to do the same… just call me!

No problem Jimmi, was great fun. Really good to do it in DCS for a change too. I’ve since updated the OTU mission as well with a few more targets and AI spawning when you enter a combat zone.

Was great to do some formation flying with Cappe again, it’s been some time and I needed the practice!

The first fight that we had was a good test for me, one it got me to remove the Afterburner detente from my throttle as it was a royal pain in the arse when flying a Prop aircraft, and not much good for the Harrier either! Two I established that they’ve changed how long you can run the engine at full tilt before it blows. This had been an issue previously and, unlike you, I was not running the engine flat out - shame I couldn’t record it. It was as a result of backing off on the throttle that I got into difficulties and ultimately crashed! At one point I was really gaining on you, but I thought I needed to back off the throttle! D’oh!

The revenge was kind of cool though :stuck_out_tongue: It’s been really good fun getting the Spitfire put through it’s paces like that. It’s something that I have been missing. It would be good to keep doing and running more missions more often. (Would be even cooler if some of you developed an interest in the Harrier too!)
