Storm of War WW2 Mission...

Hi all,
Phil has released a video of the SoW WW2 test mission from Friday. To me it looks like the SoW that we all know and miss; but with cannon and on the offensive.

This could be what we’ve been looking for, once it is up and running fully. Phil is now working on getting Simple Radio to work and will be developing the missions for the future. Hopefully we can all start to join in…with the DCS Sale being on now it is a good time to get the Normandy map (with Assets Pack) for $29.99 and either the Spitfire or the P-51D (or both!).

The bombers are all AI, and will be for some time, but there is the prospect of the P-47 arriving in the next year or so and the Assets Pack is expanding with new content pretty regularly, so we can expect an AI Ju-88 soon. I believe there are going to be more Allied aircraft created as AI too, so hopefully we can start to recreate the atmosphere pretty well.

Are these aircraft old and banged up enough for you Starfire? :roflmao:

Have to watch the video later, I lost 4 planes in exchange for 2 enemies killed (only 1 I know for sure was me shooting it down), I sure need more training in DCS without icons on. :o
The first as I remember was chasing one 109, that turned into 2, that turned into 4, and all of a sudden they became aggressive and I didn’t have enough SA to notice the one that came in and shot me.
Second loss was me lonely vs 2 109s, one of them did a taran on me, both planes destroyed.
Third was me doing a stupid attack on a enemy field, AAA got me (I didn’t see them firing at me until my plane was already going down).
Forth and last was me chasing a 190 low back to his base, I finally got him before he landed and then I turned back to attack a parked plane, but apparently there was one more 190 in the air that I tangled with some more, not sure if it was that one, or if it was AAA that got a hit on my engine so it started smoking and loosing power. I did manage to make it to a friendly field and “land”, a landing I could walk away from, but seems the plane was a write-off nonetheless.

Anyway, despite me needing more training, it was really fun, good atmosphere as well, big thumbs up.
As OD writes, now’s the time to get into DCS!

I found this on the “Chair Force” Facebook page. Seems your getting some publicity. https://79vraf.wordpress.com/2018/06/25/storm-of-war-in-dcs-world/
