Went to my first reenactment this weekend! Not as nerdy as my wife had thinking, very impressed actually. Anyway, here are a small selection of shots from it.
Comments/Critique welcome, i tried several things on these…
Drab Green Workhorses - The Willy’s Jeep and GMC Dodge truck.
A good kick up the Arsch - A German Private gets beasted by his superior.
March to war - German Wehrmacht march to battle. A young soldier carries the MG42 Machinegun.
Covering Fire - Two American G.I.'s give covering fire on advancing buddies.
Schneller! - A German SS Junior Squad Leader orders his troops to resume defensive positions.
Firefight - A Royal Ulster Rifles Gunner gives covering fire as a US soldier searches for a spare clip.
I got the same Waffen SS outfit as seen on the pictures.
It’s a little bit politically incorrect in Belgium. They’re still very sensitive about these things especially because young flemish guys fought at the side of te Nazis in Russia.
So, not much reenactment going on here and you can certainly not wear SS-emblems… But I like to collect these things as memorabilia.
Now I’m searching for an outfit of the 101st Airborne, they fought bravely in the Ardennes (Bastogne - “nuts”;))
Great pictures, would love to see more of that here in Belgium.
