Spitfire 1 Recovered

An early Spit 1 recovered

…wonderful…:):w00t:

Yeeesssssss!!!

Amazing work, and a touching story.

Great story.

WB.

Such a BEAUTIFUL aircraft! LOVELY!

Just sad to hear the pilot died a couple of weeks before it reappeared in the sand - and he wondered if it would ever be found again. :frowning:

Nice with some good news

Simply amazing!!! But, did i understood wrong or it has the early two fixed pith propeller???

Hello Cappe
It was a 2 pitch propeller (coarse and fine)

Yes sorry i was wrong saying 2 fixed pitch! Anyway, still amazing! she’s a beauty!!

It certainly looks beautiful. It flew at Goodwood at the weekend I think. It was static at Duxford’s September show.

The cockpit is fitted with the hand pump under carriage retraction - which should make for some interesting views of the take off.

Great job on the restoration.

Which brings me to the Spitfire in Cliffs of Dover.
Aren’t they missing the pump or where they modified by the june/July 1940?

It seems to me that many things where changed without changing the Mk. number.

I love that bird.

Yes they where, and also seems like they built slightly different versions at the same time as well…
