A recently restored Spit MKI is going under the hammer this week at auction. A second Spit MKI, an original 19 Sqn aircraft of C.O. G.Stephenson has been donated to the IWM Duxford.

Here is a brief run down on what it takes to restore a Spit MKI back to it’s original 1940 status.

Thanks Charlie, a nice read. Chuffed the billionaire owner Kaplan is gifting the 19 squadron spit to Duxford. Saw that one buzz over my head at Shoreham last year just after it was rebuilt. A real beaut. :smiley:
