look at this one as well…this is real Dr.1 with original engine… I couldn’t believe how he dares to do such manouvers… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMBZgmiYIiY&feature=share&list=PLF461FFD5131230C5

Blimey! I always thought the players in ROF were flying the aircraft way beyond what their real life counterparts were doing, and that was why there seemed an imbalance in performance, but this guy just squashed that theory.

Not wishing to be a harbinger of doom, I actually googled his name to see if he was still alive.

Thanks Jo.

hh, I like this comment on that last video:

by vossiewulf1
“Double indeed. He entered that first half-barrel roll into a split S too slow and it departed into an incipient spin,
and it took one hell of a quick recovery considering he entered it 200 feet AGL. Mikael, can’t thank you enough for
flying a real Dr.I to its limits and showing everyone what they could really do, but for god’s sake please be careful
”

OK, as we started to talk about the pilot Mikael Carlson, here is his page and there are loads of perfect videos…oooh man, I just found my living hero

I wasn’t trying to imply I thought he was a poor pilot (who am I to judge) but a couple of times I was on the edge of my seat.
He certainly has larger cohunes than me.

Respect.
