This has been posted over at SimHQ, but is worth sharing.
It’s from a BBC programme broadcast in June 1974, live from RAF Wittering. The footage is stunning, with so many late Cold War jets. Good old Raymond Baxter providing the commentary, they don’t make programmes like that anymore.
It certainly rung a bell as to weather or not I may have seen it when first broadcast , or maybe it was the mention of “Pebble Mill” that has caused me to think this :o
Can remember seeing the buccaneer and jaguar doing low level pass’s through some of hills and glens of Scotland a few miles north of where I stay, but haven’t seen many jets about now, suppose its due to cut backs, wonder what the RAF would say if the BBC asked them to do something similar today?
