He simple had to “Bolter” very late in his landing attemt!
But the “Tblisi” (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_aircraft_carrier_Admiral_Kuznetsov) differes from American carriers in their design. I doubt that the russian pilots have the same luxury in deck space as the USN pilots
