Sitrep - Personal Update

Hello Chaps,

I hope all is well with you. I just thought I’d post a quick update about why I’ve not been around lately and when I hope to get back to some form of normality.

As you may know, 2 major happenings have been taking up my time lately; the first being lots of training for my new job as a police air observer, the second being a house move.

The training is going well so far, I completed the National Police Observer Course last week and I’m now training on the local Suffolk helicopter at RAF Wattisham - lots of Apaches to see flying around also :). I’ve got a week to learn local procedures on the force’s current helicopter and then we take delivery of a brand spanking new EC135 P2+ so we’ll get 3 weeks converting to the new type. I’m really enjoying the job and I get paid for doing it as well!

My wife and I, together with our son, moved into a new house over the weekend just gone and we’ve been busy sorting things out. We’re just about settled but my PC is still in various boxes in the study waiting for me to find time to set it all up.

I’m hoping to be back online within the next week or so and I can’t wait to get flying again. I’ve been keeping an eye on the forums from my laptop but I haven’t had time to do much else.

Looking forward to talking/flying with you all again soon.

Regards,

WB.

Good luck with it all WB, glad you are enjoying the new job.

We’ll all be here when you get back

Your Spit at Hornchurch has just been serviced, WB…I’ll get an Airman to wash and wax it up in time for your return!

Good to hear from you Whiskey.

Sounds like a lot of fun, though I’m sure it will be serious work as well when you get down to it. In this weather you’ll have to pay particular attention to any young ladies in the sun not following public decency standards

Good job and good luck!

That sounds great all Whiskey …thx for the info.

Good to hear from you Whiskey

Good stuff!

“If the wing is travelling faster than the fuselage, then it is probably a helicopter and therefore unsafe”

Sounds like you’re enjoying it, wouldn’t catch me on one of those awful contraptions though! Ok, mayyyybe a Chinook so I can say I had been on one but thats it.

You lucky git, It must be nice to love what you do for a living. Glad all is well and we will see you soon.

Oy, so where do we show up for our free sightseeing rides?
