How to find ships? Best to use hydrophone, dive and listen, you´ll get messages like “New contact, bearing 336, freighter, slow, moving away!”
The next problem is to actually find them and kill them read my story
:o
Perhaps we should try a little MP later on “Wolfpack tactics”
Oh and you can ask your navigation officer to do a search pattern.
Man I like these officer click them and give them an order and they will
straighten their backs knock their heels together and go: “Jawohl Herr Kaleu”
But I made a long trip from Wilhelmshaven to grid AN47 and when I was there, my crew they have all red ! marks over them. When I gave to order to go full starbord somebody said there is nobody at the helm! :roflmao:
Are they then tired or something and must sleep?
I think I must have a stronger discipline on board :furios1:
So now we know why the germans lost in the end.
Because of red marks! :roflmao:
If you use timecompression the problem will disapppear
or at least be less prominent. Otherwise you have to micromanage your
crew, which is fun but takes lots of time.
I see there is a multiplayer competitive mode on the SH3 website.
Can anyone shed some light on how big/small this is? Good for LAN or something more serious?
Well I got stuck when trying to crawl up the ladder from the conning tower to the bridge. . They had to torpedogrease me.
No wonder the preferred skinny guys for U-boats :w00t:
On the strength of this post i went out and bought SH3 for £17.99 from www.play.com.
Had my first go last night and was impressed with the game, I tried the Scapa Flow mission. Unfortunately i used a lot of time compression and popped up infrequently to check my position. The result was on my last position check i found myself next to the battleship inside the destroyer screen. I had to back away to fire i was that close. Of course the destroyers nailed me, but i will be back to finish the job.
I just got it the other day Meako - what an amazing sim!
Recommended definitely it’s as absorbing as FB. Absorbing might be the wrong word but you get the picture
That deck gun is tasty. The whole thing seems very realistic
I’ve passed the deck gun and flak gun tests, navigation test tried it a few times, running aground and all sorts. Ran into a ship I was shadowing clank-clank-grinding for 5 minutes “Full reverse mister!” - bloody embarrassing, lucky I was on headphones
Just passing the tests is fun I’m finding. I’m going to learn how to be a proper submariner before tackling Scapa Flow. I’ve heard about that place
