I should get my new stick this week, does anyone have a good profile set up I could take a look at, I noticed one on the Saitek home page for iL2 which I have d/l and ready to use however there is no info on the settings to be found (what buttons etc do this and that) so I was thinking it may be a good idea if I start off with a profile that a fellow user has already set up. ( urgent messages of wtf does this button do comes to mind :roflmao:) Mags.
Hi i have just bought the same stick, i have not yet created my profile but i am about to, i have no problem sharing my profile with you when its ready.
I will send mine to you tonight Magpie.
Will post mine thursday - along with key bindings in game.
I have the X52 standard one and i have 3 profiles set up for the three LED settings (Green, Yellow, Red)
Green = Single Engine Fighter (All the usual common items)
Yellow = B25 Operations (Top/RearGunner, Engine management, Extinguister, feather Prop, lvlStab etc)
Red = Bomb Run (everything you’ll need for level bombing, far easier to do than the keyboard)
RIGHT CLICK HERE AND CHOOSE “SAVE AS” OR “SAVE LINK AS”
Its an awesome stick, even though i’ve lost force feedback, i still love it.
Richy…
many thanks guys,
Next daft question… where do you put the profile, where in the saitek folder does it go ?
usually, C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Shared Documents\Saitek SD6 Profiles
I dont have that folder
IIRC the profile just needs to be dumped into the software folder within the root saitek folder, which for me is here
C:\Program Files\Saitek\Software
And you will need to configure the ingame key commands to fully integrate with whatever profile you have installed. That file is located here
C:\Games\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946\Users\EAF19_Classic (your own name ;)) and the file called settings takes control of key inputs.
I will send both relevant files across shortly. Although I must confess its not as fully developed as Richys, but it will get you to use just the keyboard for fighters and it is setup to be multi engine compliant.
If you’re not sure, which i wasn’t, the best thing to do is open the software and set up a single key, then save it and when the save dialogue appears, click on the drop-down menu for the current folder and you’ll be able to work out where you are from that.
To be honest, the last version of the software was better, but you work with what you have eh
I’m not sure what you mean by “set up a single key” What does happen is when I try to select the throttle (in game, hotas control) It goes auto to the U slider on throttle ? and not the throttle itself, if I push, pull the throttle to use that axis it is the same as the rudder, if I use the twist grip to select the rudder it is ok and selected as such but if I then go back to the master throttle it is again the same as the rudder. I hope someone can make any sense of this as I’m at a loss what is going on
