Right then! who's going?

Duxford Flying legends of course!
I am all book up for 8/9 July. So be quick.
Pinetree.

Me and the mrs (eventually perhaps) have plans to go, no bookings made yet, but it all became easier as yesterday as my mrs is now a Swedish citizen and will not need a visa to go to the UK.
There should be another thread about it here somewhere. http://forum.europeanaf.net/showthread.php?27892-Ready-for-Flying-Legends-Duxford-2017
Hmm, I thought I had replied in that one, maybe there’s yet another thread? Yes, here it is! http://forum.europeanaf.net/showthread.php?27832-Flying-Legends-2017

Anyone have a suggestion for living, and is it saturday or sunday we should aim for?

I’m going on both days, but will also stay in Cambridge from 7th-10th if people want to meet, greet and eat! People should book hotels/inns ASAP; there are few cheap rooms left!

If you can, book an inn close to Cambridge railway station. A free shuttle bus to Duxford goes from there.

Shuttle bus service CAMBRIDGE RAIL STATION. Please note, you can only get on the bus with pre-purchased air show tickets.

There is a free shuttle bus to IWM Duxford from Cambridge Rail Station via Trumpington Road - Park & Ride on Air Show Days only.
A member of staff wearing IWM uniform will be able to direct you from the front of the station.

The first bus is at 8.30am and there is a bus every 20-30 minutes until 1.30pm. There is a return service which starts at 3.00pm every 20 minutes up until 6.30pm. Please check this information on the day.

Shuttle bus service ROYSTON RAIL STATION. Please note, you can only get on the bus with pre-purchased air show tickets.

The Stagecoach free shuttle bus service for Rail passengers Royston at the following times (depending on traffic conditions) The stop will be across the road from the station on Kneesworth Street.

Where are you staying Stunt?
I spoke to Vortex and he’s bringing his tent and I may bunk with him. But just for planning sake.

I was hoping to go to RIAT, but I Flying Legends is a definite alternative. Will have to see what I can do, seeing as Laura enjoyed it I can’t see any reason why she wouldn’t come again.

@Apollo, I’m staying at the YHA Cambridge. It’s a hostel. 3 rooms left from Friday to Monday.

Ok, I have booked a room from friday 7/7 to sunday 9/7, on the wrong side of Cambridge Railway station, but only 700m away. Now we just have to find tickets to fly from Sweden to UK, and get some airshow tickets…

Hoping to, if so I will be there on the Saturday.

~S~

Campsite booked for the Friday and Saturday nights with tickets into the show just for the Saturday.

Looking forward to meeting you all!

Cheers

Tickets booked for the Saturday.

Great to hear Mikke, Vortex and OD!

Hi All,
I thought there was a post somewhere about this show but couldn’t find it, so started a new one.

I have just purchased tickets and booked flights to attend the show on Saturday 8th July, so it would be great to meet up with any other EAF pilots attending. If we are too busy during the day to meet up I would be happy to stay on locally in the evening to meet up for dinner. I will be with my son Yann who has just finished his studies in 3D Animation.

I will try to bring along a few bits from my replica Spitfire controls project to show you.

Please post here if you expect to come so that we can coordinate meeting up

Cheers

I believe there are about 5 of us going. Last time we met up by the American Hangar and set up camp near the Land Warfare Hall. I think we need to get there early and sort out a pitch!!!

I tried to merge this thread with the previous one, not sure if I succeeded with this damned blocking of css.php that is happening for me (and some others) at work. :frowning:
Anyway, like I’ve said before, me and my GF is coming, plan to arrive in Cambridge on friday evening, going to Duxford on saturday and leaving for home on sunday morning.

Now the merge worked!

Tickets booked for Saturday

I have finally bought the airshow tickets (better late then too late!) for saturday. Me and the GF will arrive in Cambridge on friday evening, and will spend saturday at the show at Duxford. Would be nice to meet up with the rest of you there, maybe even dinner friday and/or saturday?
Meeting up at the American Hangar sounds like a plan, what time? And how do we find each others? I’ll probably wear my EAF cap from 2007 and I might look slightly like my avatar.

Damn I look older now…two kids will do it!!

Bloody working, hopefully next year though…

Downloading all my pictures at the moment, will have to go through them the coming days, and see if I managed to get any good ones. Hopefully a few good among the 2500 pictures I took.
Actually, I have a quick preview window showing the pictures as they download, it’s like a slightly choppy movie! :stuck_out_tongue:
