Shame I could’nt have gone.
I’d love to shoot the F22
Nice images, like the 109 even if ladder twat ruined it.
Thanks Keets, very nice. Didn’t know, or at least see it for the first time, how the wheels of the B52 twist in sideways somehow.
Great shots, Keets
The undercarriage retraction on the B52 is very interesting!
Shame the ladder twat got in the way of your shot of what I assume is a real 109.
Loving the vertical Raptor shot and the sparrows shot is pretty nice too
cool the Me 109
The Raptor didn’t impress me, but the bullsh@t said about it went on for 5 minutes before it even took off.
Here are a few I took yesterday, no Ladder Tw@ts nearby
BF109G4 First time in the UK for 13 years
Love the shape of the 109
Hurricane, need I say more
For a large aircraft it can turn tightly, been on one of these? I have
A Tonka
My favourite plane
Red Arrows, best aerobatic team in the world in Diamond 9 formation

Thanks, though I cocked up so many shots this time. There’s a few more keepers, but loads which I managed to ruin with either camera shake or poor timing. Ladder Tw@t was one of the few which were beyond my control.
The 109 is the EADS owned G4, flown in from Germany as part of the 70th anniversary commemorations of the BoB. I’m gutted as the shot before was blurred, I still really struggle panning smoothly with the lower shutter speeds needed for prop aircraft.
In my opinion, they underused the 109 G4 flying it in a balbo with Spit’s, Hurricane’s and the Buchon 109. (again I ballsed up the shots, despite getting at least 4 passes). Its the first DB powered 109 to fly in the UK for at least 10 years and warranted a solo spot.
The Raptor team were good. The guy commentating was hiliarious, like Don King on speed. I’ve never seen anything like it. I missed some really good photo opportunities because I was standing dumbstruck at what it was capable of. Its hard to explain, but it does things a jet aircraft shouldn’t do. I’m off to Farnboro on Friday and its flying again so will get another chance.
Nice shots Splash. I was going to give you a call, but figured you’d be on the flightline.
Fantastic shots chaps…thanks for sharing
I cant believe the beautiful deep blueness of the sky in both of the Arrows shots…now I am sitting here trying to decide which one I am going to use for a new desktop backround.

Thanks mate, has a few problems myself with a XD card. No worries about not giving me a call was busy taking snaps, about 800 I think.

Hey like the snaps i was there myself saturday and only got back late last night but as soon as i have loaded all my photos up about 3000 lol i will go and pic out what are my fave or best and put them up as well
Lovely shots and thanks for sharing. I’ve been trying to get a picture of the G4 to check its colourings.
Earlier today as I was checking my cows (as you do :)) a 109 turbo whistled overhead at about 1500f feet heading for Biggin. This had black crosses underneath and yellow wing tips. Noticed the G4 has white tips so is there another one about right now??
My jaw dropped on this one Keets.
Stunning. The jet heat haze perfectly positioned.
Not to mention that it looks like you were on a 20,000ft ladder to get up there behind them.
Thanks Joe, was lucky as I missed the take off run.
Last few keepers…
Cop’s old Spit…
Fraction of a second too early with this one and had the shutter speed way to high :o
Fantastic.
Thank you guys for all the airshow reports.
Great great shots, thanks chaps
Beautiful machines.
Excellent shots Keets! Is that smoke coming off the F-22 it looks too thick to be vapor, the aircraft looks like its hardly moving in the photo?
Hi Osprey, its vapour. The angle of attack changed so much, so quickly, that clouds of it were forming as the wings stalled.
The manoever hadn’t quite finished, the a/c was in the process of pulling up as normal into a loop, but the rear of the aircraft was skidding towards the vertical. (just googled it and I think its called the Pugachev’s cobra - it uses the variable thrust vectoring capability of the engines.
There’s a video of the RIAT Raptor display someone has posted on youtube - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXor2vMSCU8 - if you watch it, I think I took the picture around 1:52 into the routine before it goes into the J turn at 2:13.
