First Light:Geoffery Wellum
Great read, with nice detailing of his time training and serving with 92sqn. Very human and eminently readable. Devoured this book.
Spitfire Women of WW2: Giles Whittell
The tale of the women who served in the ATA during WW2. Supplying aircraft to active squadrons. Deliberatly denied instrument flying training. Flying with artificial restrictions in place. Interesting detail on a group of pioneering female aviators making their way at a time when society’s view of womens abilities was changing ( slowly ).
Makes for an interesting read with insight into characters such as Amy Johnston, Lettice Curtis, Audry Sale-Barker and Pauline Gower.
