Hey all, I am trying to make up a web page of real 602 pilots and any artwork that is available.
Some great pictures are out there, and some fascinating stories behind them - Including my own callsign LO-J that belonged to Sandy Johnstone, and LedZep’s LO-Z belonged to none other that Raymond Baxter (from Tomorrows World, no less!).
Anyway, I’m missing some facts, if anyone knows: Who flew:
LO-H
LO-K What was the callsign of:
Chris Le Roux
Any other links to other 602 pilots, spitfires, or artwork much appreciated.
Here’s what I have so far:
The ‘Escorts’ artwork is available HERE along with more extracts from ‘The Big Show’.
Do I sense a coop in the making?
There is so much material in ‘The Big Show’. Once I get a hold of the 2004 edition, I fancy making a movie on the Rommel shooting (or maybe some kind soul with that edition hint will copy more of that chapter for us )
Two nice stories there …
… hmm - Paris, I don’t think our maps get that far south, but - this could be fun IF the PC can handle the AI (180 bombers in 3 groups … :roflmao: )
Ps - I don’t remember all that operational detail in the Big Show … maybe I need a copy for Christmas …
I came across an actual picture of Raymond Baxter (the voice of Farnborough) in his spit, and also an article about the book ‘Operation Big Ben’ about the V1 and V2 sites bombing raids HERE
