In answer to the above question.
Its a Canon EF 100 400L lens on a EOS7D Body.
All handheld.
Yeah they are truly nice and even more so impressive that all are taken from hand.
I use 70-300 VR stabilized Nikon lenses for such purpose but these look so up close that I was thinking you got some really monstrous telephoto lens
