Paint Shop Pro 8: text follows curve

Can someone please show me tutorially how to create text that follows a curve like on an instrument dial glass please? The silk-screened legend that surrounds dials and knobs, or like the numbers on a clock. TIA

Picture is worth a thousand words yes

I have the thousand words if you need them btw but you already know that

Probably wont help but theres an easy way of doing something like that within Microsoft Word,

just go to

INSERT > PICTURE > WORDART

then choose the curved word art. Once you have it typed you can stretch it and move it around very easily.

I can do this easily in Potatoshop, but not Paintshop -

You enter the text using the text button and then there is an effect you can apply and a slider depending on how much bend you need.

If you can’t suss it out, send on the image and text and I’ll do it for you.

Actually PSP does do curved text, I’ve used it in the past

*smart answer next

First you need google
type in “curved text psp”
That will bring up some links to help

Thanks chaps- I’ve searched Brigs but every time there’s something missing in my version 8. Where’s this function mentioned I keep saying WTF

I will however bear in mind your “Have you tried Google?” suggestion ta mate <runs away>

Look I’m not saying I only came here to ask when I got desperate but there’s an element of truth there

INSERT > PICTURE > WORDART

It doesn’t matter what version of PSP you have, the principal is the same in all versions. AFAIK the ability to shape text has been there since ver 6.

At work but if memory serves

In a nutshell, Create your curve, select the text tool, move the cursor to the line of the curve, when the A appears click and enter the text you want to use.

There are other options aswell, like text below or above the line etc.etc.
But best thing is to playaround first and check your result

That sounds familiar now you mention it Brigs that A wotsit- ah click on the line for the A doh! yes I gave up (in desk-smashing-up mode) too early then - cheers mate owe you a cold one. And a credit
