When i fly CoD offline I have a wonderfully smooth experience and no FPS issues at all.
As soon as I go online, I get stutters. Could this be latency related somehow? Knocking gfx settings down doesn’t seem to help at all so I don’t think that is where the issue lies.
I get the same on a busy ATAG server - worth trying a server with less people on to see if that makes a difference. Off Atag and onto a small quick DF map and its smooth as butter.
I just get a slightly slower running game on ATAG with the odd stutter (spawning in maybe).
I only used to get stutters online when spawning in new aircraft missions. The way I used to create the missions was to have an attack flight. As it loads in, there was a small mini pause for everyone connected whilst the flight information was sent around to the client connections.
As ATAG tends to spawn AI flights automatically through the mission, unless the latest TF patch fixed the problem, I’m guessing or willing to bet that is where your getting the pauses. I found this happens regardless of how many clients are connected, so even on a less populated server that uses AI aircraft spawning, I think you’ll still see pauses.
I was getting vulched by an AI 109 the other day! I think I have seen AI being mentioned whenever I have joined. Maybe I have bad luck and join on all the jittery maps!
Interesting to know I am not the only one. Will hopefully manage to find some time without them as it can be awkward flying!
The script only removes aircraft that aren’t flying after 5 or so minutes, I use the same code in my missions. Its been a while since I looked at that bit of code, but ISTR it checks for altitude, airspeed and whether the engine is activated. You can test it by spawning in ATAG and not starting your engine, eventually it’s cleaned up.
I thought they were still spawning incoming bomber flights, though as you say Jimmi, this could be specific to the mission/map rotation.
