It’s absoutely stunning work, the guys who did it have my admiration. And for a combat flight sim it’s also a complete waste of time.
I hope we’re not going to see a continuation of the problem that’s always lurked in the background with Il2 - an obsession with small detail while bigger, easy to fix problems go unattended.
Yes PeeGee thats the danger and i hope it will not happen.
For example,I hope they put only so much planes in, the engine can handle not like il2 now.
But the guy making these trains just put at much details (Polygons) in, what oleg allowed for trains. Its from 2000 (biaxial-wagons) -10000 (really big objects like the “Leopold”) Polygons.
A Plane in BOB will have 35000 !!! Poligons, so you have to see it in this relation
The big picture gets swamped by the details ironically yes PeeGee…
Do not forget though chaps that you will not be seeing trains like this normally
Level Of Detail routines mean that you can have 500 trains like that and render them speedily - as Rowan did with their 1000 planes in the sky
But OTOH we’ll need lots of memory on the card or nearby because the full models in all their complexity will need to be in memory most of the time. PCIe to the rescue maybe and 512MB on the videocard will be good
Just now I am watching that pictures. Really it is very nice. I am starting to save money for new PC. By the way, it looks that there will not be place for old planes from IL-2.
