Oculus Rift on Pre Order

Price is disappointing tough…

599$

£499 in the UK, €699 in mainland Europe

from what i know…

CLOD and BOS lack Oculus Support…
DCS is supported…

i’ll wait for a year or two…

I’m not getting it. How am I to use my keyboard?
Also it’s too expensive.

just checked…
downloaded the test app!

My sandybridge i7 2600k isn’t enough to run it!!!

My PC is good to go for rift…I’ll have to see if my contract gets extended at work…then I’ll consider it!

Where do you get the app to test yer system?

Puff said last night that the Spitfire Mk IX is due out shortly for DCS…so Occulis Rift with the P-51, F-86 and Spitfire in DCS and I would be such a happy camper! Just the small matter of sneaking saving up the £500.

I know it has sensors to track the movement, but I am wondering whether you could use Track IR with it? I know that might sound a bit daft at first, but constantly checking six with that thing on your head is going to quickly give you neck ache. So, what if you could disable to motion sensor with Rift and use your Track IR as you do now? Then you wouldn’t have to look so much - but it might add to any motion sickness issues that people might have!

Having tried one at the Flight Sim Show at RAF Cosford in October I know how much I liked it and how good the P-51 was in DCS…it’s why I didn’t buy a replacement Track IR with the clip. I know I’d look even more of a dork than I do now, but it makes such a difference to the immersion and feel of the experience that it takes things to a whole new level. I just hope there is a way for it to work in Cliffs of Dover…then I think I’ll have to find a way to make Cliffs pay as I’ll never go to work! :roflmao:

EDIT: Think some of my questions are answered here…
