S!
I remember watching some videos on how they made it, but I cant remember if it won any award. Nonetheless its superb and amazingly stunning to watch - and the tiny budget of 70K euros was entirely spent on live shooting.
That director was very patient with the CGI!
Stunning. The fight in the woods is a bit cheesy though.
But the ending was a real wtf moment, I didn’t know about that.
Filming, angles, cutting and sound are just right. It looks stunning.
The story are not perfect but I liked the twisted end :D.
Historywise it is going right down the drain.
The aircraft in question are a Spitfire Mk. V (asymetric underwing radiators and cannon together with a 3 bladed prop). The german is flying a Bf-109E (square nose, wingmonted cannons, elevator bracings). Big formation of german bombers in daylight suggest 1940 where the Mk. V was still not in production. The assumption of 1940 are reinforced by the subtext at the end.
The Spitfire pilot have clearly no idear of convergense. If you look at the gunsight you will notice that the 109 fuselage are filling the en gunsight for more than 90% of the time, suggesting a range of closer than 50ft. If shooting at that ranges I very much doubt the 4½ kill markings on the side of the Spitfire.
Physics are totally screwed. 109 are comming in a 90’degrees in a fast dive but the Spitfire magically makes a hard 90’degree turn AFTER the 109 have crossed him and zoom down at less than 60ft behind the 109. In a combat area nobody are going at less that combat engine settings/speed so I very much doubt the Spit would have been able to cath the 109.
Sometimes I really hate having so much knowledge of how stuf works
:D:D:D agree…anyway I got excited watching tracer from 109 :):):)…and the end was a surprise
I posted the trailer some time ago…
Ty for pointing the full version!!!

Ballistics all messed up as well, cannon rounds that drops like 1m or more in 50m etc.
I’ve seen the “planes too close” issue in other films as well, I think it’s to a large degree a effect seeking thing. Having them at more realistic distances apart would leave a lot of sky filling the screen instead of something more interesting.
As to Spitfire type, it could be one of them Mk I with cannons that 19sq recieved, but of course they didn’t have FH (or PH as it looks in some shots) as their code.
Still a nice little movie.
