Tomorrow I release the first documentary episode about Leif Lundsten. The series is based on the upcoming book SPITFIRE GLORY by author Tor Idar Larsen, founder of www.spitfirepilots.com. 15th February 1943, Leif leads Blue Section in Circus 267, escorting fast bombers together with 20 others from Norwegian 331 and 332 Squadron RAF. Intense dogfights follows and Leif achieves his first combat victory.
Very nice Stuntman.
I really like the narration by Baz and you. Very well done.
The virtual flying by that FW190 pilot was great! Looked very realistic. What a movie star!
“And the Oscar goes to…”
Some may wonder why there are no sound effects in ep. 1. This episode is all about Leif telling his story of the day, looking back at both squadrons Operations Record Book and individual combat reports.
Next episode will all be about the sounds, the action and the thrills of flying a Spitfire! Stay tuned for high octane immersion.
Eh…
it took me several days, after having seen the thread, to have the needed time to look it.
What can I say more than that it’s a superb job!!!
Thanking you all so much, I’ll wait for the next episode!
Coming this week: Episode Two of my film series about Spitfire fighter and test pilot Leif Lundsten. Taken directly from the book “Spitfire Glory” by author Tor Idar Larsen. This film will all be about the emotions of flying a Spitfire; an extraordinary world of beauty and power mixed with the tragic struggles of war and death. All in a remarkable event for Leif and his wingman Knut Bache, on 8th May 1943.
8th May 1943, scramble scramble! Low level intruders over North Weald! A true story directly from the book SPITFIRE GLORY by author Tor Idar Larsen. The story of Leif Lundsten; Norwegian fighter and test pilot in 331 Squadron RAF. Both film and book uses Operation Records Book and combat reports to tell real history as accurate as possible. Book to be released this spring.
Well, quite different from the cut you showed me the other day Stunt’, and in my humble opinion quite a step up in “dramatisation”. I really liked the longer silent section as the tension built toward the attack on the… MOSQUITO!!
…and then goosebumps when they attacked the JU88…
Excellent. Very possibly my favourite video. I’ll watch it several more times yet.
Well done.

P.S. Who was that pro-pilot getting his tail up early on take-off?
