(Remember to activate subtitles: click on the Subtitles/CC icon in the lower right of the YouTube player)
The true story of the Norwegian 331 fighter squadron during WWII. All aircraft have correct factory numbers, tags and paint, all dates, operations and battles are true.
Dedicated to all Norwegians who endured occupation and war. To those back home, to those that fought abroad at land, sea and air. To everyone that fought to be free and to bring their motherland back to life.
So many of them never returned; they fell for us in war so that we may live free, in peace.
Quote from the book Spitfire by Major General Helge Mehre, Squadron Leader of 331 and later Wing Commander of 132. Norwegian Wing:
"Norwegian Fighter Squadrons 331 and 332 flew over 20,000 active operational sorties during the Second World War. The Squadrons shot down with certainty 180 enemy aircraft, probably more, and damaged almost as many. They destroyed many hundreds of vehicles and a great number of locomotives, railway cars, tanks, barges and ships. The Fighter Squadrons lost 75 men during the operations.
The 132. Norwegian Fighter Wing was established 1. November 1943 with 331 and 332 at its core. It was the largest active fighting unit under Norwegian command during WWII. The Norwegian squadrons and the Norwegian wing claimed among the best of RAF’s fighter squadrons. In our [country’s] history has no other unit hardly done an equivalent role in war."

Enjoy chaps! I hope you will be entertained and maybe learn a thing or two about Norwegian history in WWII. I’m very happy I finally got the chance to dedicate a movie to those that are now being forgotten in my own country.
