Easy, that is not the way it works I am afraid.
You dont need them for flying with EAF, you need them to do any online flying thesedays.
VOW require mods, DF server require mods, all the MDS need mods.
Different squadrons with EAF participate in different activities that nearly always require mods.
From your JSGME sceenshot it apears you have Ultrapack 2.0m, not a bad choice, however, if you start removing parts of it, you create the possibility that you will not be able to participate in a VOW come the time when you achieve your pilots wings and go on active duty.
Keep Ultrpack 2.0m as it is, do not remove anything.

It is really crazy. So what about to fly with EAF off-line ?
BTW. VOW is without mods as I know.

Only requirement for off-line is imagination. A shower cap, luffa and some privacy will be helpfull though.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Jirka, i was under the mistaken impresion that VOW was an acronym for “Virtual Online War”, a generic term that covers all virtual online wars.

I will look more thru topics.
Thought, I will get an easy answer…
Which Mod isnt in my ModEnabler for smooth flying coops missions on Modays and Thursdays. I dont want to be any brake or the only one without the right mods on Mondays or Thursdays.
I am sure, (and I am flying only on such servers when I have time for IL-2), that in HL are server “pure 4.09m”.
OK Sporran, I will keep Ultrapack 2.0m as it is.
The best idea Easy, is ask the person who is hosting the co-op. If you are still unsure, talk to me on TS and i will try and sort out which mods you need enabled for a particular host.

@Easy, Jirka…
…please note that most of available mods are used exclusively for offline flying.
To join DF servers, just one dedicated mod needs to be activated, be it HSFX for SEOW, or ZUTI for some other.
Flying our beloved EAF Coops together, is just a matter of agreement: I often host plain 4.09 stock missions, or just to save time, with the same mod we just ended some previous engagement with.
So, don’t get frightened: it has become much easier now, dealing with mods…just get ready, and join in, enjoying better sounds, realism and panoramas!!!
THX MonstTTer, I sent You a PM.
Main tip here Easy is to keep a copy of a clean 4.08m install somewhere on a drive. If you do not have one, ask a comrade to send you one it’s very important. Not so much now, but when you get into modding hell (Il-2 will not start) and you need to start again. Also re-installing from the DVD can be an absolute nightmare (copy protection punishing legal owners of the DVD). Il-2 also comes as a digital download for if, when you get desperate. I hope I’m saving you from a world of hurt down the line
Then each time you need a version for online compatibility, you copy that clean 4.08m into a folder called HSFX or UP2.0, VOW whatever - and start the modding-up again. Switchers are good but (if you have the hard drive space) separate copies of your Il-2 installs for each modded server can be somewhat simpler than trying to remember which mods to switch in

For many years I was big IL2 enthusiast. When mods arrived I tried many of them. But as for me 99% of it are sloppy and amateur work. This I cannot accept. So I decided to not fly rather than watch how they are ruining my favorite sim. But I am patient and I am looking forward to BOB.
I hate to ruin your dreams but…
Olegs team are making BoB with mods in mind. The sim will have a file structure where mods can be placed, and if I understand the interviews with Oleg and his nr. 2 man. The engine will able to enable the right mods automatic when joining modded servers.
This will ensure entegrity and compatability, will it will not protect against lousy workmanship.
We will see.
