Sure is an expensive hobby. Here’s another thought, Stevie.
My old Logitech gave up the ghost and I wasn’t ready to shell out so picked up an old Thrustmaster T16000. It’s not FFB and I thought I would miss that, but actually it has given me a new and solid feel to flying and I don’t miss FFB at all. It’s a “comfy” joystick with loads of buttons and just feels reliable like an old ride.
The thing to think about is the cost of that plus a rocking graphics card, this is what I have, and it transforms the quality and fps of IL2, makes RoF a breeze and a visual joy and I expect will handle CoD too:
As a die hard Thrustmaster user for, hmm, 16 years now, I would say the TM Warthog even if I’m slightly sceptical about the throttle with all the switches sticking up everywhere. Starfire can tell you more about them. You also need a good set of rudder pedals to go with it, I like my Simped.
Ming,
First thing I checked was the fuse and it was ok, thats when I knew I had a problem, if it was blown I would have just wrapped tin foil round it:D
Joe,
Thats a mighty good idea.
I like the look of the Thrustmaster I might give it a go
As for the graphics card I have been toying with idea of a complete new build, the details of which I am not certain of yet
Brigs,
Thanks for the heads up on the repair but will probably go for a new stick
Sorry i havent picked up on this before Stevie, pretty sure i have a spare powerboard for the MSFFB2… it will mean going into the loft of doom and having a rake, ill try and do that later today.
Imagine this walking in your front door and the wife say,s “I got something for you” now my 16 old son was there at the time so I new it wasn,t a bit o that I was getting:rolleyes:
She only just went out and bought me a new joystick
A Saitek X52, well you coulda nocked me down with a feather
So been faffing around with it for an hour or two, its gonna take a bit of getting used to.
So if any of you jolly fella,s have got some hints or tricks for it I would be delighted to hear from you
