Its Günther Rall´s memoires from 1938 -2004. For those who doesn´t know
he was part of JG52, and later became a pilot of the “new” Luftwaffe ending up as a NATO general. He is very much still alive. The book I got is personally signed by General Rall A 275 kills ace.
No translation I´m afraid The book is brandnew and it´s Rall´s own words.
I would stay away fram the other one too. I´ve allready reasd enough from this one to say it´s good
It willl probably be out in english I think since Rall is a “big name” in the US for instance

Well I’ve ordered it from www.meinflugbuch.de I’m just wondering when it will arrive. Jens, when did you pay for your version?
At the moment I haven’t actually paid anything I have only filled in my details as above^. Do you get a bill when the book arrives? or what happens.
I received the book a few weeks ago now and it looks very well put together. Thinking back now I should have gone for the signed version, but oh well.
Content-wise, I am learning the odd bit here and there but the bits that I understand are written very nicely indeed. Theres lots of nice pictures aswell to help along with translation for me - helps to put the words in to context
I have been emailing Kurt Braatz a couple of times and he has replied to me about the possibility of translating the book in to engish and releasing it.
He has some reservations though as to whether it would be profitable/worthwhile.
Email from Kurt Braatz:
Dear Matt,
yes, we’re just exploring chances, though there is a book on Guenther Rall on the anglo-american market, written by Jill Amadio. Reviews on that one are mixed, to say the least, but being second may end up in a pitfall, even if you have to offer something better. Nevertheless, if we find a publisher who is enthused and tough enough to take on the challenge, we’ll give it a go.
How would you assess the chances of the book in Great Britain and the U.S.?
Kind regards,
Kurt
Hopefully it will be released in english so I can buy that to
I would defenitely buy it! I have the book written by Jill Amadio and don´t like it that much. One of the highest scoring aces and almost no dogfights described in it!?
I´m 2/3´s into the book now, finished WWII and on to jet fighters. I find Rall
a very good storyteller and sympathetic and trustworthy too. The book, even though different ranks beside " The Big Show" for me.
